So I’m still after a new bike.

What are your thoughts on the OIZ in TR mode as a bike packing but also general bike.

Currently on a fully rigid very light fatty and I am not after a big heavy beast.

Is the OIZ still to racey with the 120mm travel?

i was looking at a OIZ for myself. i was reading on mtbr that it is a good bike choice for a large rider because of the shock design and ratio.
so in my mind, it would make a ideal bike to carry some luggage.
    and it looks fantastic.

Iirc someone did the highland 550 on an Oiz. So unless my memory is playing up, its doable. And they are fantastic bikes.

Got one in July, did the Jennride and some other stuff on it last year. The M10 TR version is a very light bike, and far more capable on rocky stuff than you’d think.

I use it as my go-to bike for Dales mileage. It’s a bit of a rocket when it gets going.

I’m not sure about it for a heavier rider, but worth test-riding. There is some inbuilt flex in the chainstays which I can feel compared to my Occam.

    Thx all.

It’s definitely an awesome looking bike.

Not sure I can stretch to the M10, but the M20 TR is doable.

Harder choice is size. At 185cm (6’1″) I appear to be right on the line between XL and L.

If it’s any help, the Orbea size predictor has me down as an S, but I’m definitely an M. I’d recommend finding one to sit on.

    Martin,
PMd you but then just read your last message as well !
So not worth meeting up as your bike clearly is not an L or XL !

Just replied to that effect, Bill! Try Cycle Gear in Halifax, they were very helpful when I was trying to find one last year.
