The US has just announced a ban on the sale of Kaspersky due to national security concerns.

Resubmitted to Kaspersky for them to review.

Wondered how long it would be before Kaspersky being Russian would be an issue.

I can’t log in on Firefox or Chrome on work PC. (Android phone is fine)

Symptoms would be helpful, “I can’t log in” could mean your hands have fallen off.

From the outside looking in, it’s not clear to me whether Kaspersky as a company have cause to be suspected of wrongdoing, or whether America still thinks it’s fighting the Cold War.  Probably a little from both columns.

Once of a time I’d have recommended Kaspersky.  Today I wouldn’t, not because they’re pinko commie bastards but because I see little reason to use anything other than Defender in most domestic use cases.

On my PC at home I don’t have any formatting buttons on the editor. It’s a bit odd as I’m using Opera on a Windows 10 PC, which is the same as what I’m using at work and it’s fine there. Does anyone have any suggestions about what might bring the buttons back for me?

Enable the “fancy editor” in your account settings.

Something I’ve noticed over the last few weeks. If I click on a thread and open it in a new tab on mobile, I find I’m logged out on that tab, I’m served up ads, and have to login to be able to post a comment.

Sometimes even just opening a thread logs me out, where as I was logged in only a few seconds before.

iOS (latest version) and Safari on iPhone and iPad.

How about fixing the problem with posts disappearing when you try posting them?

First I’ve heard of that, other than transient errors which were resolved a long time ago.  Replies or new threads?

The menu doesn’t appear to recognise that a second page exists for this thread. When replying, the page refreshes back to the first page.

I don’t know if other threads are affected, but I haven’t noticed any yet.

The ‘increase storage size’ issue is back for me on my iPhone… kept clicking yes, I suspect this would have kept increasing … no other issue noticed apart from this.

There’s still a big fat ‘Pay with Apple Pay’ button on the subscribe basket/cart page. But it doesn’t work as you don’t take Apple Pay. Probably best to remove it.

I don’t have any examples to hand but I’ve been reading a few older review articles that have the wrong pictures. Will try to find an example.

Minor issue after migration today – clicking on the little person icon to logon and not getting any Username/Password fields.

Windows 10/Edge all patched.

Hunted around various pages until I found another way to get logon and got in.

Another login page formatting issue here. Ipad with Firefox. Seems the fields are being presented but black on black visible so if you guess the spot it brings the keyboard up. Have switched to Chrome on same ipad for now, and issue doesn’t show.

Yeah same issue with logging in on Chrome and android, page looks invisible, but hovering over with the mouse helped me find the autofill field and button…that’ll be why the election thread hasn’t got another 20 pages today! 🙂

Picture upload has white text on a white background in dark theme, and is a free-text entry rather than any option to choose a file.  I’ve emailed you a screenshot.

Also, it’s very slow.  Can we assume indexing/caching etc and that’ll take time?

There’s a setting where you can do that here.

I don’t get the full member option to upload images since the upgrade, just the old postimages external hosting dialogue.

Interesting – can log in fine, and the ads are hidden as expected, but viewing a members only story (e.g. the Marino post on the homepage) tells me I need to join/sign in to view the content.

Safari/latest iOS. Private mode gives the same results so doesn’t look to be cookie related.

IPad Firefox and /or Chrome

Trying to post an ad in the classifieds, but it tells me I need to log in… yet I am logged in as I’m posting this.

I’m showing as a free member when I still have a live subscription.

Messages are now almost unusable as they are all squashed in one narrow column on the right hand side

The video in the bottom right keeps popping up despite me having videos disabled.

This also stops the page scrolling as it keeps dragging the page to the bottom unless you close the video.
