Been a while since I’ve logged in, but now can’t seem to find the button to post a new thread.

I’m having a problem on my iPad, keeps logging me out every time I come off the site even though I tick the box to stay logged in.  Never happened before in all the years I’ve been on here and it’s fine on my phone, any ideas? It’s really frustrating. Tia.

Image upload keeps telling me my 3MB pictures as .jpg files are other 10MB and not a jpeg.

Not far.

You need to resize the image first, the error message is incorrect.

Not true on the re-size. 640×480, 116KB .jpg fails.

640×480, 534KB .png works.

Both based on the same original.

So long as .png keeps working I’ve got a working method.

Pass, then.  That wasn’t my experience, the file extension made no difference for me.  But I can count the number of times I’ve uploaded directly to the forum on the fingers of both hands so… 🤷‍♂️

There’s still something else going on, a different .jpg file, 684×827, 80.3KB works.

Please would you turn the UK English spellcheck on for writing posts, rather than the US version

I prefer not to get an automatic space between each paragraph, can we have the option of two “return” presses if that’s what the writer wants?

Endured facebook marketplace instead. Sold within an hour…

Not an issue as such, but can sold classifieds be hidden from view? They just clog things up. Unless I’m missing a point of why they’re not hidden.

If image upload doesn’t work, try taking a screenshot of large file size photos and using that instead. Has worked for me.

That’s nothing to do with the site, it’s a setting in your browser.  Menu / Settings / Language / Spell Check in Chrome, others will no doubt be something similar.

Should we be able to see other users profile details? Forum posts made, when they signed up etc ?

When I clicked on one from my messages it took me to my own profile…

The format of user profiles is [singletrackworld dot com]/user/[username].  What’s the URL in the message look like?

Actually, there is a bug there.  If I go to (say) your profile, then from the user options button top right ‘Profile’ points to /user/lister/ and ‘Messages’ points to /user/lister/?profiletab=messages (which obviously I can’t see).

Paging @Mark , this is one I don’t think has been captured before.

I’ve now replicated the one you mention also.  The username link at the top of any of my message threads goes to /user/cougar rather than /user/[sender] – you should just be able to retype the username in place of your own as a workaround.

Cannot currently access the election thread. Clicking on it simply opens the “new post” editing box, with no way to read any of the posts on the thread??

I’m trying to resubscribe – using the Apple Pay link in the checkout, I double click to pay, I see the processing spinner, then it says it’s done but the page doesn’t change, no email confirmation etc.

Any ideas?

Seen the same issue Win10, Firefox.

“Heur” is presumably short for heuristic.  It’s not saying it’s found a virus, it’s saying it’s found potentially virus-like behaviour.  It’s almost certainly a false positive.

You should be able to submit such things to Kaspersky at my.kaspersky.com (assuming that still exists).

The same issue was raised with Kaspersky back in February.

They advised at the time that it wasn’t a false alarm but was malicious code in the site.

This was sent to the tech team and if I recall correctly they removed the code and the problem disappeared. It may be that the code has been reintroduced.

That’s a question for tech-support@ STW then.

I’m still sceptical TBH.  If it were genuinely malicious code, I’d expect it to be picked up by more than one vendor’s AV.
