Ok, so we have a triple, 26″ wheels and no dropper, what other heinous crimes have I committed? Thanks to Kit from here for this bargain on the frame though! Should be fun, find out when it stops raining…

And it’s even got a 11/8 head tube as well! I’ve not seen a non tapered head tube in years…that takes me back.

(it had better not be that retro as it’s distinctly similar to my main bike. As opposed to my retro bike).

St4’s of that age are the most fun ride, ever!

I loved mine and rode and rode and rode it.

The faster you go, the better. It requires proper involvement in the ride – not just a long travel wallow – but you can batter into stuff at giggle inducing speed. But being shorter travel, it still accelerates and responds well. 8)

Shame I snapped mine. Three times. Keep an eye on the rear chainstays and linkage. 😕

This was a warranty replacement for a snapped one… !

Won’t get heavy use, probably when I’m injured and unable to run. The drivetrain I ported over is 2008 vintage, as are the forks and wheels!

No crimes but it’ll be more fun with a dropper post! 😛

    Oooooh, st4, mmmmmmmm……. 🙂

You need a 25.4mm stem/handlebar, 9 speeds on the back (although it looks like you already have: enjoy the cheap chains and powerlinks!!) and of course inner tubes.

I’ve got a ST4 and love it. However, I was out on it the other night and heard a disconcerting noise, which turns to have been the linkage snapping! Oh, well. Don’t suppose they’re still available from Orange?

I built up a Ti 456 just before Christmas, great fun, I’m spending a lot of time at the local jumpy bermy spot. Long live 26″. I will probably treat myself to a dropper when funds allow.

    Looks lovely in orange.

I had a mk1 like that in white which was fun in a flexy way. Cracked at shock mount and as they were moving to mk2 frames got one of those on warranty. A bit stiffer at the back end but still great fun. I cracked two chainstays over the following two years and got their last one after production had stopped so I suspect your chances of getting any replacements are slim.
