Feel for you big time. my first dog (Wullie a wee staffie) i had from the age of 9/10 till i was 23. I was away in college when he died and i still miss him, im 34 now. Second dog, Blu a siberian husky is with the Ex due to my work commitments and i miss him all the time. Used to take him out on the bike with me all the time and run him a good 10-15 miles 3 times a week. Only way to stop him taunting me all day.
I do kind of see JoeGs logic as if you do get another one from a shelter then you’re helping another poor animal out who’s been neglected. I donate to animal charities and just got a letter in the door the other day and they are getting more and more animals in every day, more than ever before.
Last animal i got was a cat though for the wife as we live an a flat now. scoured around the shelters to find the one in the worst condition possible and found Marmaduke who had lost his tail somehow. He was the one. Had to travel hundreds of miles to get him but i knew we had to help this poor wee animal. Never had a cat until then but he is fantastic as well but very much the wifes’ friend lol
