Sorry a bit boring question but disc brakes never seem to be as reliable as I want them to be. Avid Juicys were v good but a nightmare for changing pads, Hope Minis kept needing to be bled, Elixirs ditto. I’m not very heavy so don’t need the most powerful I just want something super low maintenance.

Is that too much to ask?

Well I’m running 6 sets of Shimano brakes some of which date back to 2003. Never done anything except change the pads, or a quick bleed if I’ve needed to put a new longer hose on. Totally fit and forget.

XTR are just a pleasure to use, particularly after several sets of Elixirs which were utter toss!
