Can anyone help recommend a machine shop that could make a custom crown race for me?

Basically I need a hope crown race that is a little taller than normal as the knobs on the top of my fork touch the frame at present. After contacting Hope they do not make them. I think i need approx 3mm additional height on the crown race to clear the frame and would like a custom race that spaces the crown up a little but allows the current sealing arrangement the crown race uses.

I could go down the route of an external lower cup (zerostack headset) but would have to get a reducer crown race for that anyway so would prefer to get a tall 1 1/8 crown race and run extra travel on my fork with little difference in the A-C over an external lower cup.

    Any recommendations greatly recieved.

If you can send a drawing of what you want I can see if I could do it for you..

I’d be looking at my files and the fork tops.

on-one were selling various tall races for a bit after the ‘tapered steerer in a 16″ c456’ issues came out – might be a good start point even if you need to get the angle of the race changed?

I’m sure I’ve seen thick crown races for sale somewhere before, worth a Google.

could you not just get the hope pick n mix d cup – 1.5 – 1 1/8 step down traditional? Takes a normal 1 1/8 crown race and gives you the extra few mm that you need for the forks.

That’s what I run on my yeti.

King do extended base plates, pricey but effective if it suits your frame

can do a rough sketch and provide a normal race for measurements etc. The immage i have in my head is if you can immagine a crown race sat on a 3mm headset spacer but made out of a single bit of alu.

Could do that but would prefer to add 3mm to the crown race rather than 10-15mm in a lower cup so i can run a pair of forks at 130mm rather than 120mm.

Do you know if a king race would fit a Hope headset?

Doubt it. I meant change to complete king
