    few things.

bought it to do jumps. then triple ring and clips. hmmmm

'cant beat on-one for value' – then everyone buys a headtube badge for £14. fourteen pounds! value? thats 10% of the frame cost!

Er… so who said they bought it to do jumps then put a triple ring and clips on?

Why do you care, really? The frame still cost less than £150 including the headtube badge.

    🙄

just interested, coulda sworn it was a forum for discussion. or can i not question your impecabble judgement?

my bad on the jumps thing, thought that other bike (with the long stem) was yours… evidently not.

Just wondering why you seem so keen to have a go (and get it wrong). I never said anything about the frame being good value, so the head tube badge thing seems a bit of a weird criticism.

You're free to have an opinion of course, and I'm free to think you were being an arse 🙂

the head tube badges are ghey IMO.
im sticking with my rose 🙂

general comments grumm. don't be so keen to take it personally.

plenty of talk about value on this thread + plenty of interest in expensive headtube badges.

also the last pic is of a tiny frame, but with clips and trip ring. odd setup if you ask me.

You don't live in Lancaster though, the white rose is not acceptable here. 😛

Also the rose couldn't make that wimpy yellow colour look any worse so it doesn't really matter for you. 8)

I don't really get the thing about percentage of the frame cost etc – it's still way way cheaper than anything similar even with the 'expensive' head tube badge. I would consider myself fairly stingy compared to most on here but £14 doesn't seem very expensive to me.

    Tiny frame? It's 18"

And I assume by clips you mean the pedals? Are they wrong?

    roller, or no roller??
    that is todays question.
are they worth bothering with (i have it knocking around)
i bought it as a single speed tensioner, what do they actually DO when used normally?

I've bee wondering about that – I've got a Blackspire Stinger that I put on my Pitch for the Mega I've been thinking of sticking on.

It just stops the chain rattling off the big ring on rough stuff – works too, the chain never came off once.

A few quid on a headbadge for us Lancastrians / Chesire-ites (or whatever we're called) to de-Yorkshire it? It's not much on the grand scheme of things.

Anyway – I got mine muddy last night. Anyone else been out in the hills yet? Top, top bike – very nicely finished and ridiculous value for money – extra headbadge or none. 🙂

Looks cool with some mud on it (and the expensive head tube badge) 🙂

Just finished mine – don't think I'll be testing it out anytime soon as I feel rotten.

edit: still need to cut down the steerer, and yeah the garden is a disgrace

Got my brown 456; ordered Tuesday @ 16:00, arrived today… Very pleased, although the brown is slightly metallic which I wasn't expecting. Paint looks good, only one teeny spot where there is a teeny chip, but has been lacquered over. Hurrah.

    Ta daa.

you cant tell in the photo that the pads in the front brake are brand new and need bedding in before saturday.
and yes i realize the hoses are a little on the long side.
and yes i know my box of spares is looking like it could use a new box.

proper daylight pictures on Saturday 😀

Got my frame yesterday but will leave to the weekend to build it up. Looking good grumm. The frame is brighter in the flesh than the pics portay it as. It's almost fluorescent!

Cheers Devs – yup it actually does almost glow in the dark. Couple more pics just because

i have an on one, and live in lancaster, and i'd rather pay £14 for the headbadge that have a white rose on the front of it!

    Hi,

Long time lurker, first time poster… Got myself a Barry White Inbred frame this week following the passing of my '97 Orange P7 (or rather, the forks with a 1" steerer). Pretty happy with it. Very happy with the carbon forks, think I may have finally found love.

Anyway back to the frame. The frame is advertised as the BB having not been faced. The threading looks a bit interesting too, am going to run it into the local shop tomorrow to get it faced and chased, but I haven't noticed any mention on this thread about this?

Am I being a Wuss? should I just force the BB, it doesn't feel like it will go in smoothly.

Be gentle, this is my first bike build.

Hi, I emailed on one about that and they said they are faced during manufacture.

    Faced and then painted.

    Hi Graham,

The frames are faced during assembly – the worst that can happen is a bit of variation in paint thickness….

    Adrian

Email from On-one. I've had no problem putting mine together, there was a bit of excess paint in the dropouts and I had to knock out some paint from the disc brake tabs, but it seems fine. Depends how fussy/methodical you are about these things I suppose.

BB went in fairly smoothly, worst thing was some bits of cardboard in the threads, off the packaging.

Good luck with the build, was my first proper build too – really enjoyed it. 🙂

    YEAH BABY!

does weigh as much as mexico though, but im looking on that as confidence inspiring/winter training 😉

the fork pushes down (to 85mm i think) with the ETA so it shouldnt climb like a barge

Looking forward to riding mine at the weekend round Woburn, although the weather looks atrocious.

Downloaded a cool angle measuring iphone app yesterday (suprisingly accurate) and it's showing 66.5 degree head angle with 100mm forks, no sag. I guess that'll be somewhere around the 67 mark once I'm sat on the bike. Other observations are that it's a good inch longer wheelbase than the inbred it replaced, looking at where it hangs on the wall in the garage.

Mine has arrived! Wont get to build up until next week as at the in laws this weekend but looks great! Will post up pics of the build once it is done. Will be my first ever new frame – Ive always got second hand before

My new box arrived today next day service – BRILLIANT – however size "correct" – colour "wrong" – gutted! So gave the chaps a call up, prefered colour coming Monday with the courier picking up wrong frame, can't say fairer than that. Pics/build to follow..

    [public climb-down]

Ok Grumm – you were right. I've just tried black grips and saddle on the green Inbred and, yup, it's a lot better than adding brown to the mix.

Therefore, there will presently be appearing on the Classifieds a set of lock on grips and a rather nice Ti saddle…

    [/public climb-down]

I'll sort some pics over the weekend.

I want to see a pink one too – though I'm loving the orange, yellow, blue and brown (and my green one, of course). Good work, On One design pixies.

More mellow yellow, think they would suit a full white finishing kit.

Brakes still a bit squishy 🙁

That looks great, tinribz – and a cool match with the Bombers too. I've spent about 2 hours tonight with a squishy back brake, but it seems to be coming good; best of effort with yours! Patience is a virtue or something like that.

Nice tinribz – what size is it?

    tinribz

It's a 14", for a 5'2 Mrs Tin. She prefers a long TT but with the seat up and maybe a layback I reckon I could get on with it too, and I'm 6ft, with the slack front feels really stable. The Bombers are plasti-coated!
