Despite riding the area often, I’ve never attempted any of these trails. Considering giving them a blast. Guessing I head towards the summit of win hill then veer off left? I’ve seen the trails crossing the ladybower side of win hill but unsure where they start.

Or should I not do it? Is it more/less objectionable than riding footpaths? Don’t want to be a dick if this sort of thing causes problems in the area.

    Cheers

they’re built to be ridden, unlike footpaths, go for it.

If you really need to poach try to avoid weekend as Ladybower area tends to get very busy.

Or go for really early doors to avoid walkers…

    Cheers!

Yep, I would go with “fill your boots but don’t shout about it and try not to be too obvious”.

This thread needs Pook. There may be some access negotiations going on up there. I’d suggest waiting for advice from Peak District MTB.

Causes friction with the landowner who we’ve been working with to improve access for the whole upper Derwent Valley.  Elmin Pitts is the first, but I’ve got a map with 20+ miles of proposed permissive access routes on it that they brought to a meeting we had with them at Carsington Water.

I’m not the trail police, i’ve no right or purchase to tell people what to do and people will likely tell me to bore off. Just saying we’ve put some proper work in to changing Severn Trent Water’s perception of the MTB world and it could come really, really good for here and beyond

Might want to pass the above info onto the YooTube senders who are basically advertising the place and taking big groups around these trails.

Certainly opened my eyes up to what there is there – makes me want to have a play!

May be others could? Save the batsignal going up and me having to be the boring **** and take the inevitable flak everytime.

I wonder if their sponsors know they are using illegal trails to promote their products

im all for riding where you can but when it is your job comes a higher level of responsibility

Thanks all, I think on balance I won’t bother. I wouldn’t want to jeopardise potential legitimate access. Good work Pook, the new trail up towards hope cross is great 👍
