It’s The Baseball Furies who would really freak me out

    Killer Clowns From Outer Space.

One of the most anticipated, but ultimately disappointing horror films of my teenage years.

Actually brandishing weapons at people is bang out of order. But all said and done it’s a once rare and funny thing suddenly trending and will be gone by november.

And yeah, if they keep doing it in the US, someone’s gonna get shot.

Be careful, you might end up in a fight with one of the STW hard men.

There’s two groups of clowns outside my house carrying pies.

I think there’s going to be a custardy battle.

    I’m considering this:

If I see a ‘killler clown’ the second thing I’m going to do is reverse back over ’em 😉

But seriously, it’s 1% some kids having a laugh and 99% urban myth / bullshit.

I get it’s 1% kids having a laugh, but it’s a slightly odd way to do it and they won’t be laughing if in scaring someone the fight or flight reflex comes down on the fight side and they get a size ten in the face.

Seems there was one around the corner from my house last night, lots of people overreacting on Facebook about it and just like here some claiming that they’d resort to violence. The reality being anyone who passed just chuckled.

Anyway if you going to do it then you need to do this one.

Some people really need to “get a grip” eh?

-the woman was walking alone in Eaton Park at about 20:30 BST on Sunday when the man leapt out, screamed at her and ran after her.
-a man dressed as a clown and carrying a baseball bat was reported to have chased a 10-year-old child through a park.

    Where’s their sense of humour?

Seems to be a lot of this going around at the moment along with rumours of people being stabbed by them in the states. Loads of Facebook videos appearing of the clowns being beaten up after jumping out on people and some times just walking down the road.

In my opinion they have only worn the outfit to upset people and if they are doing enough so people feel threatened or scared then people have the right to respond with reasonable force to that threat.

    Damn right!
I feel much the same about people who dress in Rapha.
It’s the only language they understand.

Its a massive overreaction to a couple of kids getting spooked.

A couple of schools around here had warnings this morning that when the kids come out this afternoon, they will be killed with knives. Then the teachers.

The police were called, but couldn’t guarantee to be available at 3pm.

Good job it’s all a jape.

So death threats rather than someone just jumping out of the bushes in a clown costume. Yeah I’m not sure they’re the same thing.

Kinda related story. Back in my late teens some friends and I were away for the week (somewhere near Skegness I think) and visited a cheesy fun fair type thing. There was a ghost train ride which contained a section where a man dressed as a clown jumps out next to the slow moving cart. One of my friends, a mild mannered, lovely guy, jumped out of his skin, screamed like a girl at a One Direction concert and hit the clown man square in the face.

My friend was mortified and couldn’t stop apologising. I just wondered how many times that had happened and how much the clown got paid. Moral of the story is it’s a dicey business messing with the fight or flight mechanism and the outcome might not be amusing.

I saw my first hoodied chav on his bmx, with his face painted up like Heath ledgers Joker in London today – trying to give people menacing stares.

Quite interesting in a way, wonder if you could use epidemiology/infectious disease principles to map out how crazes like this spread.

We should fight back by dressing like old school magicians or mime artists. I don’t know what purpose this will serve, but it seemed like a good idea when I started typing. Not so much now though. 😳

The question should really be, how many times should you punch a clown in the face?

Can you imagine the noise their big red noses will make as you punch them, repeatedly.

Budweiser guy should have filmed the bit where he has to try and carry home a ripped-open slab of beer with 23 bottles in it- nightmare.

“wearing a wolf mask” – is that the new killer wolf craze sweeping the nation?

Anyway, I think the actual craze will end in tears pretty soon…
Portsmouth: Youths seen wearing clown masks as craze hits area
Southampton: ‘Killer clowns’ spotted across Hampshire as police warn culprits could be prosecuted
Brighton: Concern raised following ‘killer clown’ craze sweeping across Sussex

Yet a knife threat treated as a joke because of the clown connection? They aren’t the same thing, but get stuck in the same pigeonhole.

Have the actually threantdned anyone ? The press tell us they’re killer clowns even though they haven’t actually killed anyone.

😆 something tells me you won’t think it’s serious until one does kill someone! They brandish (ok, wave) things that look like knives at people, to scare them. Understandably, it does.

I’ve got to say if one of these numpties jumped out and terrorised my little 16month old son when he is playing I’d be less than impressed, as I would be with anyone, dressed as a clown or otherwise.
