Mrs B has decided it is time to revamp and decorate our modest house.

Said house build mid-1990’s with interior doors, surroundings, skirtings which are generally darker wood.

New light oak doors in a contemporary style going on but we, apparently, need to get the surrounds, skirtings, etc painted white…….

Personally, I’d rather avoid the hassle and expense and leave them as they are.

    Help!

I will be paying someone else to do it…along with the ceilings, walls, etc.

Perhaps I simply take a weeks holiday and go somewhere with the dog and leave Mrs B to the paint fumes and upheaval….

doing my house up at the moment, oak doors(howdens so not solid oak, can’t afford that) and all the woodwork painted white, looks much better than all wood

Fitted this door and non glazed versions x13 to replace the ancient pine doors, had to paint the pine skirtings etc, satin white took many days but it was very much worth it

Hate skirting boards and door surroundings (and internal doors come to think of it – why the **** do we continue to live in little boxes contained within larger boxes separated by useless doors that are just an inconvienence?), which explains why i removed mine years ago and now live in a semi-finished shell of a tiny 1bed bungalow, quite happy with the bare unpainted walls though – decoration is so overrated and an utter waste of valuble time which could be spent productively by daydreaming bout nothing in particular.

Depends what you think is a waste…. I don’t class adding thousands of £’s value to the property I own a waste of time.
