As an aside, if you were to try to take this further ie small claims court. You haven’t given Ian enough time to respond, so your claim would fail as you have not given ian a reasonable amount of time to respond. I think there is case law that suggests 28 days is considered reasonable..

Whilst i appreciate your input and you’ve made yourself look ever so clever by trying to reference some case law, i think talking about small claims courts is a little drastic don’t you?

I am not saying you dont have an issue but most folk are questioning how you have dealt with it. You bought what you had seen in a picture and even you accept it was [probably]a genuine mistake yet you post a thread entitled ianpinder give me my money back – when in fact you are actually waiting for a free part to fix something he [ nor you] did not know about when he sold it and you wonder why people are flaming you.
IYou have a right to redress but you have taken the nuclear option over a very cheap part where the OP has agreed to fix at his cost rather than tell you to F off. All he appears to have done so far is not answer an e-mail very quickly. Seriously this is no reason [ yet] for the slagging and title you have given him. you deserve remedy but he deserves the benefit of the doubt.

How quickly do you think it should take someone to order a part, receive it then forward it to you then scunny? Bearing in mind that he’s not dealing with this stuff full time and it’s probably costing him about £15 to sort you out?

Hub was paid for on 5th May. It arrived on the 13th. An email was sent that day, Ian agreed to send the correct axle. Sent an email on Wednesday to see if it had been sent, nothing. Email again yesterday, nothing.

This is a useful thread, I’ve picked up about 5 or 6 people who I know never to trade with, because they think it’s perfectly OK to send the wrong bits as long as it’s only a few quid, and that people should keep quiet about it if it happens, and sell the parts on Ebay if they’re no use, and also if they describe an item wrongly it doesn’t count if the picture shows the mistake- that’s the buyer’s problem not the seller.

Not that the OP’s doing too well either, it’s a classic lose-lose thread

I have only just started using this forum again and unfortunaltey i have come to the conclusion a lot of the members are complete idiots and have nothing better to do than comment on threads to aggravate people.

The OP started a serious thread and lots of people have just posted shite on here. Leave the guy alone FFS. All these posts with people getting personal is really sad, grow up. Someone even stated a new one is £40 and suggested he might be poor. Very sad whoever wrote that. I remember them being as cheap as £45 on chain reaction so your wrong there pal.

It sounds like the seller is a reasonable guy so hopefully this will get sorted, but it’s funny how when sellers are selling they reply straight away then once the deal is done they aren’t so quick to reply.

Most people have a smart phone so have easy access to email.
Mine are delivered straight to my phone. In this case I imagine there was a reason why the seller didn’t reply but as a buyer it can be very frustrating when you can’t get hold of the seller.

On a general note, there are a lot of serious questions asked on this site and unfortunately too many idiots on here that think it’s funny to most crap and take the p1ss.
If you haven’t got anything constructive to add don’t bother posting.

Also, the original item was described as buy as seen and was dispatched and recieved in reasonable time!

So this whole issue was for a free part that I said I would send him as I had lying around, which was only fair to him.
And this has taken 5 days…. Which isn’t even along time.

where these threads are about genuine con artists it is important but this has resolved exactly like it would have if this thread had never occurred IMHO
