    So from the wisdom shared above my Longshot Solaris Max would make a totally unsuitable frame for this exercise?

    I think so yes, you’d need pretty short forks to get the head-angle reasonable, then your cranks would be dragging on the floor and the reach would be huge!

    Depends on how big the gravel is where you are!

    I went the Lynskey route, 26″ Ti Frame/single speed…..fitted 700c wheels, full carbon rigid fork (size’d for 26’r), 29’r tyres, drop bars. Its brilliant and comes in around 19lbs

    Just noticed I’ve already commented on this thread, I’m repeating myself 🙁
