What is the point of wets if they don’t race on them?

Been that way for years now, wets are pointless. If it’s too wet for inters the safety car comes out 🙄

Magnussen just proved my point 😆

    Maybe Palmer just proved theirs?

The one overtake of the race and they missed it!

Plenty of overtakes at the moment!

So, will Lewis benefit from the lunacy of full wet –> presumably slicks?

    milky1980

The track is drying out very quickly, probably only 2 or 3 laps in it being good for slicks.

I presume that’s the plan. Not much room for error at Monaco though…

It’s only dry on-line so RIC can’t really send it down the side anywhere currently.

well that was a cluster of a stop

It’s all about who can make their tyres last until the end now.

Not a good weekend for Verstappen then…

Back to Toro Rosso for Canada?

    great drive from Lewis.

Boring in the second half but it’s closed up the championship nicely.

Feel sorry for Ricciardo though, one team issue screwed his race up 🙁

Yay! And proper flags too 🙂

Difficult, as Kvyat didn’t exactly shine, either.

All very well having youthful exuberance, but Ricciardo showed the Bull could be fast and precise.

That’s twice he’s been bummed; he must be looking at other teams for next year.

There’s only Ferrari who may have a space and I’m not not sure anyone would leave Red Bull for Ferrari. Ferrari consistently under perform and have been nearly-men since Schumacher drove for them.

New rules next years and revived Renault engine. I think Red Bull is still the best place for him (unless a Merc seat becomes available).

Danny Ric looking for Hammer time somewhere! I would think maybe Mercedes when they realise Rosberg wont win the championship. Ferrari will want someone ( Rosberg) that wont rock the boat with Vettel. You could well see Sainz and Vestappen in the same team again. Button to WIlliams and Massa to Haas when they ditch Guiterez.
Rossi in the Manor when Rio’s cash runs dry.

Also, Vettel would veto Ricciardo to Ferrari…it would make him look slow again 😀

Nah, F1 isn’t as knee jerk as that – even after the crash Verstappen’s stock is still very high – they gave him the RB seat to secure him for 2017 and beyond, not because they thought he might nick a few more points in 2016.

Joe saward is of the opinion that rosberg is negotiating his contract with merc at the moment, via gerhard berger. I think both rosberg and redbull would get a wake up call if Dan ric was seen chatting to toto wolff or niki lauda in Montreal.

I could see this happening. Ferrari have preferred a clear team hierarchy for as long as I can remember

Pook, you weren’t the only one 😆 Rosberg looks all at sea currently, struggling to cope with an on-form Lewis as usual.

Everything’s just starting to look a bit tasty for the European summer run 😀

More bizarre behaviour from Fred Alonso.

Running just outside the points and he’s begging to come in and have a rest.

He’s not dedicated at the moment.

I assumed he was just trying to put fewer laps on the engine given the possibility of of needing more than the allocation to get through the season.

He wanted fresh tyres to see what the car could do…. not retire

    ScottChegg

    He really didn’t.

He was looking for an early finish
