Getting excited already! I'm hoping for a 4 nil result, but shall predict 2 nil, hoping fat frank and rooney score. Would like to see lennon drop to the bench as he has little end result.

4-0 easy victory and you can swing back to being the best team in the world

2 0 bit of a dodgy start then a goal will give us some confidence!!

Gerard to play behind Rooney and engerland to win 3-0

David James got so depressed when at Pompey he tried to commit suicide by throwing himself in front of a bus. Fortunately the bus passed underneath him and he survived…

I would like to think 3-0 as their defence looks about as solid as ours.

    Ahh…

So 3-1 then. 1-0 at half time.

But it will look easy I reckon – back at sea level too so we should be able to easily run them ragged especially in the last 30 minutes.

The optimist in me thinks it will be 4-0.

However, I have a niggling thought in my head it will end up 1-1.

Praying for a decent performance, a clean sheet for Rob Green and the defence, and to run out 2-0 or 3-0 will do just fine.

But tbh, a 1-0 with the winner scuttling in from a deflection 2 minutes into injury time will be good enough too.

    Can you borrow defibrillators?

    frank isnt fat?

No your quite right but that's his nick name. I rate lampard very highly, but he does not always show up for England.

Hmmm – predicting an easy win against and african team playing in africa is a dangerous game to play.

Why Algeria is a long way from RSA.

Err… Have you seen South Africa's, Cameroon's, Algeria's, Ivory Coast's and Nigeria's results so far? Only Ghana have managed a win.

I'd hope for a victory, can't see a margin of more than one or two. A draw still wouldn't be a disaster.

Gerard to play behind Rooney and engerland to win 3-0

What evidence is there that this would work ? If it had been tried before hand then fair enough but going in to the WC experimenting with your team is hardly a Cappelloesque approach. If Cappello wants to paly 4-4-1-1 or however you want to draw it, he'll play De Foe up top with Rooney in behind, as he's already looked at that.

I think Barry will make a huge difference to us. I'd expect A Cole to give us all the width on the left, leaving Gerrard to tuck in and effectively give us 3 in centre mid. I think that's the only way that we can survive with 4-4-2.

It could go either way.I reckon Rooney will be rampant tonight. He's bored out of his little scouse head. Someones going to be on the receiving end of it.

Its either going to be the Algeria keeper or the ref

And the Algerian 'keeper was shit in their first match.

What? Sorry? Ahh yes, good point…

i don't think any of us know enough about his mindset to say that tbh. Apparently he was only going to pick players who were fit…what happened to that?

I know what you're saying about defoe but he's too wasteful at international level to be trusted as the out and out striker.

playing gerard in the hole allows us to have lamps, cole, milner or swp or lennon plus barry sat behind mopping up.

maybe capello won't risk it but we only have to win 1-0 six times in a row and we're there (optimism!)

I wouldn't be to surprissed to see crouch get the nod over heskey, as he always does well against the so called lesser teams.

Agreed – I was saying that in an earlier thread myself. Then Defoe on for the last 30 when they are too tired to try to catch him.

He should manage that. I'm pretty sure he'll be on the bench.

I reckon 2-0 but again an unconvincing performance. Happy to be proved wrong.

    3-1.

Eldest gets to stay for it so there'd better be (a) goals and (b) an England win or else I predict tears before bedtime.

Are people happy with the Slovenia draw? Part of me wanted them to win so they'd put out a B team for last game.
