How do you wash these and how often? also do they become less waterproof
with washing? Ta.

I do mine at 30deg using a mild detergent with no softener or fragrance, then once in a while I use Grangers 2 in 1 stuff to keep the waterproofness um, waterproof.

Use either Nikwax Techwash, or if you can get it , Lux flakes, as these are a soap, not a detergent – they’re suitable for most, if not all technical waterproof stuff. The key is to avoid detergents altogether if you can. I use the Nikwax re-proofer, but I’m sure the Grangers stuff will be fine as well.

Think you’re meant to tumble dry them for a bit too?

Most of the time I wash mine at 30 deg with no detergent – you’re only really getting mud off rather than lots of sweat. I understood that the issue with detergents is not that they make it less waterproof but that particles block up the pores making it less breatheable

Washing my “waterproof” shorts with normal detergent definitely made them un-waterproof. Fixed with Nikwax though.
