Perhaps even a grand exercise in mass anti tory voting ?

That was me – for first time ever.

Even my very very deep true blue parents didn’t like May – that’s how weak she is

I said at the beginning of this campaign that something odd was happening, that I didn’t know what, and I’m still not sure I know what, but I think it’s happened.

4-5 am it will be pretty clear what the outcome will be due to the results as the swing or not will be more obvious

Far too early, people, be careful not to get your hopes up.

It would be jolly nice to see the Tories have their parade pissed on just when them and their media mogul and big business mates were about to wedge their snouts in the trough.

    Fingers crossed………

Lots of regional variation, expect Tories to do well in West Midlands, West Yorkshire, North East and Scotland. Labour will do well in metroplitan areas especially London. Tory votes gained will be more efficient leading to 80 odd majority but could be 100.

    🙂

SNP will not go into coalition with anyone. As certain as anything is in politics. They would back a labour minority government tho

They wont be helping the Tories will they and we all knew they would be “pally” with labour.

I still think the tories will be in government, either with a tiny majority or the support of the Irish unionists, but even then this would still be a political earthquake. Owen Jones on facebook has it about right, “If this is exit poll is right, this is one of the most sensational and amazing results in Western political history. And all of you should be proud of it, because you were part of it.”

i can see the Lib Dems going into an informal coalition with Labour if it came to it, i think they suffered too much by being in a formal coalition to risk it again. I don’t see anyone apart from the Unionists helping the tories.

If the exit polls are right the SNP have had a disaster (though still win of course) and to be honest I don’t give a **** right now 😆 Though dying to see a Scotland breakdown, if Labour have handed the Tories a stack of seats I’m still going to do my nut.

    Holy shit though.

But we’ve seen that many Labour supporters would be happy with that.

I’m just loving the fact that the ever arrogant May seems to have been delivered a nice swift kick in the balls.

    Not convinced.

Will only believe it when Laura Kuenssberg breaks down in tears and begs forgiveness.

    Pish.

Why so? SNP tried to whip up a case for indyref2 that wasn’t supported by the Scottish electorate, and if the polls are right they’ve got burned as a result. How in any way does this result strengthen their mandate for a second referendum?

More than half the scottish seats, higher % of the vote than any other party, contol of hlyrood.

I doubt the 22 losses anyway but the last result was a freak one

The tories whipped up a case against indyref2, they made this election all about indyref2 in Scotland. Looks like they lost and the SNP got the majority. Therfore if both made the election about indyref2 then the SNP won it.

Kuensberg looks pretty pissed off. If this is true her reputation is going to be in tatters. She’s already going pretty heavy on the tories in an effort to save face. I don’t know what will happen, but I”m going to enjoy the schadenfreude for the next few hours.

It’s difficult not to start getting a bit excited about the prospects here.

Sterling down? Not compared to the Tory/UKIP led fiasco last June, so a small price to pay.

The most important thing is that the Tories get a kick in the balls. If that can be achieved we can take it from there. Anything is better than an enhanced Tory majority, even the uncertainty of a hung parliament.

Either way May’s gone in the morning, surely? I mean if she ends up with anything less than the majority she started with, that’s got to be her falling on her sword

Been grinning all the way home from rehearsals, on the settee now with a few beers for a few hours, see which way this goes – as someone else said above, it’s been a shitty few years, if it all changes by sunrise tomorrow this has cheered me right up. I’d take Labour giving the Tories the bloodiest of noses, as the exit poll indicates – but I’m starting to hope for more… 😀

Changed some money for a biking trip I’m going on this weekend to Spain yesterday

Lady behind the counter said she had been really busy all day – queue was about half a dozen people when I arrived and was when I left (you normally get served immediately) – said she thought people might be changing money ahead of the GE result to get a better rate

I’d think the only possible party which might consider a coalition deal with the Conservatives this time is one of the Irish Unionist parties – but then between them they didn’t win enough seats last time to form a majority if the 314 prediction is correct (10 Unionist seats, leaving them still a couple short). That’s even if such a coalition wouldn’t be full of trouble given how NI voted on Brexit and has big ongoing issues with it.

If you run a campaign where you don’t answer a single question put to you what do you expect!
