Anyone have any experiences with this?

It appeared in Fresh Goods Friday in Jan 2022 @ben_haworth how did you get on with it?

I’ve been geeking out on Zero Friction Cycling and this seems better than Silca Super Secret and CeramicSpeed UFO Drip. Although the latter has brought out a wet conditions version now which hasn’t been tested.

Also spotted Silca’s Synergetic which looks like a next-generation wet lube in the ZFC tests, but very expensive at £32 for 60ml although the lifetime drivetrain + lube cost is supposed to be cheaper. Members @kiwimike (comment here) and @tomlevell (here) are pretty happy with it.

I’ll probably give Juice Lubes Viking Juice a go too at some point based on sheer number of recommendations on here, although it’s a decade old product now.

I was impressed by the ZFC review but I noted that it’s not as clean as the other drip waxes so I bought some UFO Drip instead. Probably I don’t ride in such bad conditions as most folk on here (yes, I’m a softie) but it’s been good so far.

I’ve been pleased with it. Much, much cleaner than the last 2 non-wax ones I’ve used.

I took his “not as visually clean” to mean the drivetrain won’t be as shiny, rather than running dirty picking up contaminants. Thought that was a price worth paying for the 2-3x better result in the longevity tests.

    Well, he says:

ZFC belief that Flower Power is much less set as a wax lubricant than most others – it definitely has a much more oily texture to touch, you get black fingers handling a Flower Power chain like you do handling a wet lubricant chain. But this type of wax – sunflower seed based, we appear to be getting the contamination resistance in dry dust like wax lubricants that set much drier vs Flower Power, but with the measurable level of flush cleaning that some wet lubricants have demonstrated.

So, it is almost like a best of both worlds – the main downside being that it simply is not as visually clean as the wax lubricants like Silca SS drip or UFO drip, and definitely not as clean to handle – if you get a rear puncture you are going to have messy black fingers. Still, messy black fingers beats the crap out of high wear rates of your components,

which is fair enough. For me personally being clean to touch was a bigger factor. Probably just being a big wuss. But I’d be interested to hear what folks real world UK experience is cos it’s certainly a good deal cheaper than UFO and less faff than Putoline ( kidding, tj, kidding !!)

I’ve been using this – i love it.

Seems to work well and last OK – it gets reapplied after every wash / ride .  Yorkshire summer !

I don’t find it messy and a bottle has lasted quite a while even on multiple bikes.

I love using it on my kids bikes – as the chains are cleaner and they don’t get oily legs / fingers
