The importance of spacing. Because he hasn’t put a space between ‘G20.’ and ‘In’ Twitter has assumed it’s a webpage ‘g20.in’ and is looking for it. Seems someone has created something for it to find… Bravo!

Rudy Giuliani doesn’t understand the internet

Did you see the orange knobclanger on the front pew at the Bush funeral? It looked like someone had left a turd and it’s escort at the wrong service, and you could see in his awkward wee pet lip, that he would give anything to have a fraction of the respect shown to the Bush family.

He is not overly adept at taking off a jacket. One of these days he won’t manage it, and have to give a speech with it stuck over one of his wrists.

You could see him fuming through all the comments about “country before president” and “not about republicans and democrats” and bipartisan work, all just statements of the obvious but he looked to be taking them all as personal attacks.

    His funeral’ll be pretty different.

What happened to Rudy Giuliani? Wasn’t he the guy credited for turning around New York City and the guy who came across very well in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks? Wonder what made him want to work for this cretin.

@rene, he was credited but not responsible- the decline in NY crime started under and is pretty much entirely attibutable to his predecessor and to democraphic and economic changes outwith his control- no wonder he gets on with trump. (he famously backed broken windows as a policy and NY became the case study and very celebrated, it wasn’t til years later that it was discredited as a policy and by that time everyone “knew” it was a success)

Ironically he did some really good things- domestic partnership rights for same-sex couples, and pretty much made NYC into a sanctuary city…

    Irony…

I don’t do Twitter, but having read the news about the Mueller report I had a laugh at the fact he seemed oblivious to being referred to as Individual-1.

Come in Individual-1 your time is up.

Democrats visit the White House in hopes of bi-partisan discussion.

It’s like they have no idea what this looks like

The government-run Bahrain News Agency featured a photo of Mr. Giuliani meeting in a royal palace with King Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa. The story said the king discussed “Bahraini-U. S. relations” with Mr. Giuliani, who was described as leading a “high-level U.S. delegation.”

But Mr. Giuliani was not in Bahrain, a country with a record of human rights abuses, on official business. He was there to seek a lucrative security consulting contract with the government.

The trip was part of a concerted push Mr. Giuliani has undertaken in the last few weeks to win business from governments around the world — including in Africa and South America — for a firm he owns called Giuliani Security and Safety.

At the beginning of 2018, I promised my kids that he’d be out of office by the end of January 2019.
As autumn approached I had to concede that that prediction looked unlikely.
I am now actually quite hopeful that if anything he could be out of office and even in cuffs by the end of Jan.

“one-sided coverage… should be tested in courts”

They should probably consider having some kind of amendment to protect free speech.

Not how far but how loud, there will be bluster and noise then some waving and then some distance while he throws somebody else under the bus.

Look like Drumpf may be prosecuted and/or impeached for conspiracy. What interesting times.
The Forbes cookie thing is a tad intrusive and slow.

Mattis (Defence Sec) goes too. Link

In his resignation letter, Gen Mattis described his views on “treating allies with respect” and using “all the tools of American power to provide for the common defence”.

“Because you have the right to have a Secretary of Defence whose views are better aligned with yours on these and other subjects, I believe it is right for me to step down,” Gen Mattis wrote.

    Nice

Donald Trump is halving the troop numbers if Afghanistan now and replacing them with his mates in Blackwater.

    https://www.militarytimes.com/news/your-military/2018/12/21/mattis-is-out-and-blackwater-is-back-we-are-coming/

Mattis has resigned stating that you can’t rely on private contractors for national security.

Bet the ERG would hate Mattis, Blackwater is a 21st Century East India Company.

Yayyy for draining the swamp of all those neoliberal elites.

The ever growing danger is that there is pretty much no-one sensible left to question him so he will be left to his own madness even more. Friendly dictator plan is working out well.

I’m a bit confused about this US gov shutdown thing. Trumpy wants money for his wall. But weren’t the Mexicans going to pay for that? I seem to remember someone assuring us that that would be the case?

    mikewsmith

Yeah, I think it’s just a loan really, they will pay once it’s built. Anyway what you think you know is so obviously #fakenews that you must clearly be an idiot to believe what you think you might have heard. The only real facts are the last 3 words that have left his mouth, anything beyond that and he could contradict himself. It’s a tough one to keep up with really.

Obviously just like any building work it must be a staged payment contract, the Mexicans will probably make a payment when the plasterboard starts going in.

We’ve already had the 1st Fix though. That happened in late 2016. Trump must be due a payment soon, surely?
