dhr 2.4 on 25mm rim

Just got in from work to find a parcel from tredz with my dhr inside

I’m wondering if it would be better on a wider rim though

I have a hr2 on the back now and I wanted to replace it with the new dhr but the hr2 rolls in corners at lower than 27 psi

Just stick it on with moar air or send it back for a 2.3?

Can’t see there being much difference between the 2.3 and 2.4

I’d have thought that would be fine. I have a dhf 2.5wt on a 25mm rim and it’s fine at 25 psi and didnt get time to pump it up on one occasion and it wasn’t disaster at 20 ish psi. Run either a dhr2 2.3 or aggressor 2.3 on the back on a 25mm rim and around 25 psi I’ve not seen any issues either.

I was running a 2.4 Minion DHR at 24psi up front on a 25mm internal rim with no issues. Dropped to 22psi on the last ride and still no problems.

I’m probably about 80-85ish kg when out on the trails.

ran a 2.4 on a 19mm rim for ages without any issue.  There isn’t really any width difference between the 2.3 and 2.4 DHR2.

I’ve had 3.0 on a 25mm internal rim. It’s fine c so long as you don’t run crazy low pressure.

That makes me feel better nemises how was the profile on that?

I usually run higher pressures normally to stop roll and save the rim

It’s pretty square on a Flow EX 25.5mm rim – and a wider rim is going to make it squarer still, so I’m very doubtful it would be better on the 35mm rim it’s allegedly designed for! Great tyre though.

Just ordered a 2.4 dhr 2 wt online (26 in). I have 25.5mm Flow Ex rims. Am sure it will be fine, I used to run big 2.3 tyres on my old Mavic 17 mm internal diamanter rims (admittedly at higher pressures and with tubes). I also have Continental Trail Kings in 2.4 on one of the rims, which works fine. They are the size of a small house.

I think wider rims would be nice but can’t justify a wheel rebuild.

Yeah I’m running Minion DHR 2.4 on a 25 mm internal rear (Stans Arch mk3) and it’s great. Run as low as 21 psi and no issues with rolling, bit it is on the rear and I’m < 75 kg.
