That looks pretty neat.

I think so at first look. Although IME they missed a trick by not being a step-thru frame. It could’ve easily been the affordable alternative to an Xtracycle Edge Runner eSwoop.

Efficient cargo bike needs stepthru IMO. Not even nitpicking, as having used both hi-step (less good) and step-thru (revelation) extensively for utility/cargo, hi-step became a dealbreaker now, no competition. Don’t get me wrong – I love a sprightly dismount, and am still thankfully flexible! But with cargo/grocery bikes the loading, stoppy-start stuff, frequent dismounts, and no-kicky-passenger-in-teeth action demands a dropped top. ymmv. People have been wrong before 😉

Decathlon have said it won’t be coming to the UK anytime soon due to inability to bring to market at a reasonable cost.

The UK sucks dogpoobags at this point in history.

As an owner of a non dropped tube long tail cargo bike . While it’s a hypothetical nice thing to have the engineering of and extra weight of a non diamond frame (it’s alot like designing a cabriolet) to achieve it coupled with the fact I nor the wife have ever kicked or come close to kicking our passenger(s)in the teeth.

But step-thru (or even mixte) really aren’t hypothetical, new, rare or radical in the utility/cargo/shopping bike world. They are the norm?

Indeed but it’s not defacto.

Like if it didn’t have handlebars then it would be a moan point but there are many ways to skin a cat when it comes to frame design and while it is nice for some folk to have a step through. There are reasons not to.

I have to say this is going to be my position for the foreseeable future. I’m a big fan of decathlon but unless the whole group pulls out of Russia I’m boycotting them. They’re not the only sporting goods emporium in town…

I’m sure some pedant will unpick my flawed, middle-class, consumer micro-protest l but there it is, I’m not giving decathlon a penny now and encouraging others not to either.

Bumping, I saw one in store today. Unknown rear hub motor with 58Nm, 672Wh battery. Integrated lights.

£3299 is quite a bit more than €2700 though, and that was “reduced” from £3499 launch.
