Hello There

My Mate Has got a cotic rocket mk2 (not the new longshot geometry version) that he purchased last year from keswick bikes after we both demoed them at whinlatter. The x fusion 02 shock that it came with has a very fast rebound rate. Even fully closed it is riddiculously fast. After contacting keswick bikes and a bit of back and forth he sent it to away for a rebuild under warranty as there definitly seems something wrong with it. It came back after the re-build with the exact same rebound speed?!

To make the bike rideable he has to run his fork very fast to get a balance between front and rear ends but this causes its no end of problems with traction in corners etc.

Has anyone else had a similar problem? Its frustrating when the demo bike rode so well and had the same shock on it.

If he can’t get it sorted then is resigned to the fact that he will have to buy a new shock. Are there any rocket owners out there who have had this issue with an xfusion 02 or any advice on a good shock as a replacement. I believe its a 200 x 57.

Thanks

Not a rocket but I’ve got the o2 shock on my new FlareMax and the rebound does seem to be fast or very fast.

Does it have a ‘tune’ written on? If so you could check it with cotic to make sure its the correct supplied shock.

I’ll get him to have alook tonight. I’m pretty sure that it hasn’t got the tune sticker on it. Thanks for the replies so far

Not a huge fan of X-fusion. Needed a part for a fork, pretty basic part, the air piston had broken. The distributor wanted me to return the fork to them for service and repair. That coupled with the fact the US service and build centre has closed and been moved to China/Taiwan literally put them in the same bracket as SR suntour.

I got the x-fusion as a spare for my Rocket as it was pretty cheap.

I ran my CCDBACS on it but it just never felt as awesome poppy fun as the fox shock that the demo bike had.

Then I got one of the discounted Fox Float evol shocks from Germany. It’s mint. The Rocket is now much more lively, like the demo. The rebound can be as slow or as fast as you like.
