    Hi all,

I’m currently renting a flat in London, and have contents insurance for my bikes etc through AA.

End of this month we are moving to Edinburgh for probably a few months (not 100% sure yet) – initially into an Airbnb for a month, and then likely short term rental after that.

To keep my items insured, will it be best to continue with a regular contents insurance? Or are there anything better suited to short term stays? I thought about travel insurance, but it will be a blurred line between whether where we are staying is a trip or home I guess? Also we might exceed the 60/90 day limit per trip that many policies have.

Does Airbnb cover guests’ possessions? A quick google just gave me info about what hosts are covered for.

    Thanks.

(Not looking for insurance for anything crazy – just a few bikes, laptop etc etc)

Easiest to ask your insurers how best to do it probably, might just be series of change of addresses, though there will be an admin fee I’m sure

Nope – that’s what holiday insurance is for.

We have buildings/contents & liability insurances on ours, but nothing that would cover guest possessions.
