Currently got Cont Verts on my ride but will be commuting so stick with what I have as we're heading into winter or get some commuter tyres (if so which ones?)?

Mostly road but longer ride home across flint and chalk.

    Cheers

Conti Travel contacts, great puncture protection, fast rowling and big enough volume to use off road or for bouncing throuigh pot-holes.

If you want the ultimate puncture proof tyres, Schwalbe Marathon Plus are good. If not, Marathons.

i have the schwalbe marathon plus and they are a great tyre. never had a puncture and have had good life out of them.

one thing though, they are heavy.

We sell tons of Marathon Plus's. Super grip too even in the wet – you can get your lean on on the way home!

They are a touch heavy but a decent trade off for the complete absence of punctures on the whole. They get fitted to wheelchairs as well we found last week when we replaced a worn set for a chap. He loved em. They last ages and he couldn't remember a puncture in 2 years of daily use.

Have to vouch for the above folk.

I have 1.35×26 Marathon plus from Scwalbe.

    Reflective side walls are nice,
    Heavy tyre,
Grippy (Some sideways action on leaves this morning),
    Roll well,
And hopefully less punctures but nothing is puncture proof yet but this is the closest!

Sshwalbe marathon supremes – lighter than normal marathons, full puncture protection and grip brilliantly. Not cheap but worth it, as fast rolling as a road tyre – I use nothing else on my CX bike for 100 miles a week commutes – had a pair for 6 months and little visible wear too. Magic!

One thing with Marathon Plus's- just pay for a bike shop to fit them. That way they're wasting their tubes, not yours. They are a bugger to get on,but once they are on, that's it. Forget about them till you can see the threads.

I spent a fair amount of time looking at this a few weeks ago, and out of a short list of about 6, I went for the wtb allterrainasaurus. Not fitted them yet, but they look good, and only £10 each at JE James

    Schwalbe Marathon Plus or Ultimate.
For a lighter option try Specialized's Armadillo range or Bontrager's Hardcase range.
