Changing FS Frame Bearings

HI Guys and Girls,
The onset of spring and the run of ace weather this week has prompted me to finally sort out my much loved abused FS bike, starting with getting the dead bearings changed in the frame/swingarm. Can I do this myself? I'm not an expert mechanic but I'm fairly practical and reckon it can't be too hard, I'm pretty skint at the moment so I'd rather do it myslef and avoid the LBS. I've got a pretty well stocked workshop and the frame is carbon so dont want to go steaming in if I'm going to ruin my bike!

Where's Kaesae when you ned him!!?

I did my Stumpjumper, but it is alloy.

I could get 'behind' all the bearings to tap them out with a screwdriver or nicely sized socket, as long as you make sure the frame is held firmly when you tap them out it shouldn't matter that it's carbon.

Ha ha, I wanted to ref Kaesae in my post but didn't want it to become a ridiculous/hilarious 18 page epic!

It was for me, just cleaned the frame up with a bit of GT85 and wiped a little grease in to help them on their way.

Oh, and I used a Black and Decker Workmate to hold the frame steady.

I've just done the bearings on my 08 Enduro(alloy frame) and its a fairly straight forward job
Found the best way to remove the bearings was with a vice and 2 sockets so that the vice would press the bearings out and in(it saves hammering and risking damaging the swingarm)
Might be worth changing the bolt kit when you are doing it as a couple of my bolts were worn with grit n stuff
