Last night, 6ish, I saw a guy riding past the Oxo building in race pyjamas, DH bike, neck brace, full face, go pro under the peak.

I’m assuming he was sending some sick drops somewhere about the place.

Where was he going? Anyone else see him?

there was somebody ‘seasoning’ the steps in crystal palace park last weekend on a the full monty kids super hero pyjama outfit and matching ‘rig’ i was tempted to go and get the fixed commuter and ride the same set of steps to share in the radness, either that or give him the £7 for the train fare to dorking.

I’ve done that look on the Cyclepath to work

You may feel a twit and get some funny looks, but…

    a) People get out of your way very quickly
    b) You don’t get f***ed with by muggers, rapists, murderers, kids
    c) Your nice and warm on a cold early morning
    d) You get to work and your hair is not messed up like it would be in a normal helmet

Or on the way to or from some event / show / photoshoot etc, or just got off the train or going to one to go ride outside London.

Could be doing an urban ride but unless someone’s set up a full on urban DH course where you can hit it fast, urban would be more suited to a jump bike or hard tail, even with steps and drops.

He was on his way back from sessioning (or seasoning as MrSmith put it) the escalators at his local tube station

    nice, but wrong direction.

event/shoot was my guess. the only thing a bike that big would be necessary for is something like that pall mall step drop that was doing the round a few years ago. And you’d want to be dressed a little more inconspicuously for that sort of stunt, I’d think.

too late to be training to ride out of London, too clean to be on the way back.

Funnily enough I have seen him (or others similar) whilst walking to and from London Bridge to Blackfriars, moto gear, full face and the last time riding an intense M9.

Maybe I should start going full “enduro” on my commute 🙂

I get funny looks riding through London in my downhill gear. What it means is that I spent too much money on bikes, can’t afford a car, and so have to get the train out to the trails 🙁

I’ve ridden my DH bike to Baker St to get the train to Wendover then ride to Aston when I was carless

Staying at a mates house nearer the trails, make sense to wear the riding kit and take normal clothes in a backpack?
