PP will there be Tiffin? Can I come and say hello if there is Tiffin?

I can imagine the Ashton Court management up in arms if the trails are trashed, not to mention the fields that are used as well.

What, like the way they are every winter? 😉 Re the fields, Ashton Court know there is a problem with the durability of sending people over damp grass, but they’re happy enough to tape off any knackered bits and re-seed them. The Bike Fest has come close to upsetting them before, but that’s been more due to using off-piste bits of trail in the course, e.g. the double drop-off that was in it the other year.

Good of you to volunteer to help fix up the trails afterwards KINGTUT 🙂

FWIW, its amazing how quickly grassland recovers, especially during the summer and the actual amount of park/grassland the course uses is pretty minimal, and effectivly restricted to the event village, which won’t get anywhere near as chruned as the small amount of course that goes through the event village.

I’d be more worried about the inevitable Bristol style enormous holes opening up between the armoured sections of trail. Most of the trail is now armoured so it’ll only be a case of fixing the holes. D’you rekon Ant?

Rich, I’m not sure if Mission Control has cleared me for the use of tiffin.
    I’ll ask her
    😉

Mr A, cheers mate, I’ll have to sort out some form of loan agreement based on the purchase of alcohol I think….

    Mission Control says –

“I was going to do flapjack because of the heat, but if you get sultanas and digestives it is an option”

So, do I swing past the shops on my way home or not then?

    It’s up to you Rich!

I will be there on Sunday riding for bikecity in the pairs. Went and done a couple of laps last night and the course rode really fast, but what a difference rain would make. I have only just got over mud at clic.

Please! pop into the shops! I do love that Tiffin! I will try and bring something along to trade. 🙂

Could be cookies could be brownies could be both 🙂

I’ll be riding in a team of 4 for the cheesy riders. On a black Giant Trance.

It’ll be a real shame if the rain spoils it – the course is great at the moment.

digestives in a tiffin? surely ginger nuts are a better choice?

Kingtut… did you ride D2D last year? Now that was an inexcusable bit of trail trashing if you ask me. It has nearly “recovered” but the trails will never be what they once were. I’m sure Ashton will not suffer anywhere near the same fate.

I’ll be there! Team Wacky Racers; probably on my Felt Virtue
Knottie – I won’t be showing-off for the camera unlike CLIC, one soft landing onto a Quantock cameraman is enough! (rgds to Sharki)

Yes I shall visit the LVIS tent(s)
Whereabout are you? I can’t see you on the camping plan, have you got a big posh set up somewhere?
    🙂

    EDIT – I see you now. We’re in A8/9

12hr solo newbie – will be on a red Turner flux. Dreading the mud, think I better take those pythons off

Has anyone dared to entertain the thought that the mud, if it materialises, might actually be quite fun?

Yep, gives me an excuse to do less laps.

It’ll be brilliant if it’s muddy but only if it doesn’t rain enough to make it a clag-fest. If it’s just slippy slidy fun then bring it on 🙂

I can’t believe the temp is going to be as low as Metcheck are forecasting.

It’s muddy there 95% of the year so the usual Bike Fest dry trails are a nice change :p

I think it’s spouting complete gibberish and the forecasts are effectivly the weathermen saying “Ain’t got a clue mate, could be raining fish for all we know”. I’m sure it’ll be fine.

    MrAgreeable

Are you hitting “refresh” on Metcheck every 10 seconds?

And ADH, I’ll have you know my bike was retrieved from a crackhead’s basement, not a skip. 😉

As far as Metcheck goes I’m inclined to agree with you.

    Hell yes.

Metcheck is generally the biggest pool of bilge in an already large sea of weather forcasting dross. My arse is better at forecasting weather than they are*

Looking at the data, I think we’ll be lucky to escape without any rain, but it’s so hit and miss anything could happen right now.

*My arse has also been known to be wrong.
