It was unsavoury, but kicking a ball into a goal from 12 yards is a foregone conclusion. Until you add the impact of pressure, and the mind games. He was seeking an advantage, which he pushed about as far as he could. I wondered if the LvG substitution was at least part mind games too, making the CR players think ‘shit, a penalty saving specialist’ or even just the fact he’s 2″ taller and fills the goal more.
