Not exactly a lot in it! The Geometron is waaaay longer, but then so is the price.

Thats the 170mm forked numbers so the more common 160 set up has a bigger reach/steeper SA.

Poles come from the same factory as Birds and Pivots too.

I’ve had my Zero Am boost since June last year. Easily my favourite ever bike and the one that I make time to ride more than any other I’ve owned. It’s so well put together for the riding we do in the UK and Bird were great to deal with when I was ordering it, plus the build on arrival was first class.

I too am holding out in the hope that Bird will do a slack short travel 29er, akin to the Whyte s120. Please Ben, make it happen 😁.

Yeah – I think I’m correct in saying that Bird is just three people? Couldn’t be more of a contrast with how Bird go about their business compared to Sick, who had about the same amount of staff, but couldn’t manage to deliver a batch of frames between them. I don’t think I’ve heard a single customer say they were happy with Sick, but Bird manage to produce four or five different frames, while offering custom full builds and all the complication of suppliers and logistics that goes with that, and still I’ve never heard anything but glowing praise for their service.

    Nice Pinkbike article.

I guess Sick never read this bit (or any of it)

“I recommend you actually go and buy lottery tickets with your cash because you have more of a chance making money on the lottery tickets than you have of starting your own bike company. I’ve been here almost 30 years and I’ve seen all sorts of people come here in the past 30 years and I’ve seen them all come and go. They fail because they think it’s easy.”

“You think you can just hand over your pile of cash and the factory will build you bikes. It’s not that simple. You have to earn their trust. You have to prove yourself. They want to know all sorts of things about you before they are willing to work with you. Who’s involved in your plan? Where is your money coming from? What are your long-term plans? In order for you to know any of that, you have to sit down and forecast and plan everything down to the finest of the details. People think they can come in, throw a load of cash down on the table and walk away with a load of bikes. It doesn’t work like that.”

Went for a test ride of an Am9 a few weeks ago, helpful, professional and happy to discuss.

    Definitely rate the customer service.
