So I’m goner start looking at some other options from this country but who makes steel frames they same quality as dekerf and same kinda geometry ?

    http://www.dutycalculator.com/popular-import-items/import-duty-and-taxes-for-bicycle-frame/

    Import Duty on Frame is Price Inc Shipping * 1.047(Import Duty @4.7%)+Handling Fee * 1.2(VAT @ 20%)
    Complete bikes are 15%

    Fairly Clear

    no idea about similar…

Can Shore Lines the official chromag distro in the uk not get you one?

2 souls maybe fit the bill? Pricey though at 1000 euros.

Getting it through Shorelines wont save anything. The Surface’s are a limited supply and allocated to individual buyers.

lock , even if you did find someone in the UK who could build it, it wouldn’t have the same custom tubing. You could always settle for the Rootdown instead and save yourself some cash.

Fly to USofA, buy frame & have it built, ride around the USA a bit having a road trip of some meccas, come back to the UK with your pre loved bike.

I looked at the Surface, lovely looking bike. Dekerf only builds a certain amount a year hence the price, the duty adds another layer of pain, these are currently on my wish list.

Pipedream Skookum – St or Ti

Buzzard looks like it will be great – but heavy like all the other longish-forked 29er steel hardtails out there at the moment. I’m waiting for a 29er rival to my C456 – something ally or carbon with good geometry for a sensible price. Come on Brant!

Might I just add that non of my suggestions above are over-priced.

I believe the final buzzard weight has come in a bit lighter than expected at 2.75kg for a large

The Quarter Horse is doing it for me ATM.
I thought the Yelli rode well but this thing’s even betterer.

And it’s grey and industrial looking like a German battleship. 😆
