Ashburton, Devon riders

Hello, older newbie here,

Anyone in or near Ashburton who meet up to do leisurely mtb rides in the area? I’m not massively experienced and as I’m approaching middle-age (mid-life crisis?!?) I’d like to get back out there (on my trusty 20+ year old mountain bike!) and hit some (easy) trails around Dartmoor. Not a big fan of road cycling but don’t mind the smaller country lanes to get to and from places.

Big peaks might do a shop ride.

And the bike hub in totnes do a midweek gravel/mtb thing. Loads of green lanes between Ashburton and totnes.

there’s a local ride at Haldon I think (I haven’t lived there in a long time) which might be a good place to meet locals.

I think someone on here organises or participates.

Thanks. I’ll check out bike hub in Totnes and have been thinking about visiting Haldon forest – so will do that sometime too. Did a bit of the Wray valley trail recently and some of Drakes trail yesterday, with a bit of off-piste, getting a bit lost on Dartmoor type of stuff.

There’s a group page of Facebook called “Devon MTB Club” seems pretty active with people organising rides, I’d suggest checking it out.
