Actually, it’s not an SR-71, it’s a Lockheed A-12 Oxcart, the CIA-operated precursor to the SR-71. It was much more secret. Generally the A-12s were painted black but some of the initial ones flew unpainted, getting to show off all their titanium body panels.

Also the third jet in my post is a Hawker Sea Hawk, a sort-of evolution of the aforementioned Sea Fury.

The sleek single prop seaplane is a (the?) Supermarine SB-6.

It’s not big, by any standards, but it’s brilliant as you can go in pretty much all of the aircraft, including the Sea Vixen 😀

I once saw one of these being used in a rescue practice, by the fire brigade at RNAS Culdrose. Very sad in hindsight

Love the Super Corsair, the kinked wings seem to take it out of the ordinary.

Actually very effective at low level, but suffered from some serious problems during development.

10 AEF… woodvale, 11 years old and got my first class cadet badge the day before… old RAF boy in the chipmunk doing aerobatics over the sea….. and then a harrier came in to visit. It was at the time by far the best day of my life (even if my uniform was too big!). I see that beluga take off from my desk a lot… it still looks a little bonkers.
