Video: Danny MacAskill Game of Bike – Which Trick Could You Do?

by 2

There’s a new video from Dany MacAskill, which has prompted some surprising reactions in the office. Chipps – not known for airtime and tricks – may be getting rad out in the slickrock of Moab, because he said:

‘It’s rather good – and not uber impossible rad.’

Which led us all to watch it trying to figure out just which of the tricks Chipps reckons he could pull off.

The video is to promote the Crank Brothers Stamp 7 MacAskill edition pedals.

Amanda, who we’re beginning to suspect is a bit of a closet free rider, casually said:

‘I’d ride down some steps backwards. I’ve done that before.’

To which Hannah squawked:

‘What? But you’d have to fakie!’

Hannah has spent some time in the skate park failing to learn to fakie. And she’s looked at the video and she’s not sure there’s anything in there she’s ready to try yet. But a bunch of the tricks do take place in front of an office where she used to work, and she’s glad she’s not working any more. Imagine, she’d have been a forensic accountant instead of a bike journo. Shudder.

What do you think, is there a trick here you’d try? Or an office you used to work in? Maybe you’ve had a bit of a post night club moment in one of the locations featured (if you were a student in Edinburgh, you know what we’re talking about, don’t you?).

Or maybe, like Ross, you’re just going to sit back, rub your sore ribs, and enjoy the show.

I came to Singletrack having decided there must be more to life than meetings. I like all bikes, but especially unusual ones. More than bikes, I like what bikes do. I think that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments. I try to write about all these things in the hope that others might discover the joy of bikes too.
