The team behind Tweedlove and the new Vallelujah race/festival is looking for volunteers for both races. TweedLove volunteers have always had a reputation for friendliness (and enthusiastic heckling) something that has become a mainstay of the atmosphere.
The organisers are after volunteers for both the Endura Whyte Vallelujah enduro race in Selkirk, on 28th and 29th March, and then throughout TweedLove festival from 16th to 31st May, with events around Peebles and Innerleithen. They particularly need people to help with the Enduro World Series event (25 – 31 May), and are promising “every kind of role you can imagine, and then some!”
They’re looking for volunteers who are sixteen and over, able to volunteer for at least half a day and have kit and clothing to keep warm and dry outside, whatever the weather (which we all know will be lovely). In return, as well as the chance to get trackside for the best racing in the valley you’re promised their never ending gratitude, lunch and a natty t-shirt.
Also, if you volunteer during TweedLove you’ll also be entered into a prize draw to win some great prizes, free entry to Love Club and the chance to rub shoulders with the best riders in the world. And as anyone who’s marshalled an event will confirm, it’s a great way of spending a day or two, while taking in the atmosphere and feeling all ‘backstage/VIP’ about it all.
If you’re keen to help drop them a line at volunteers@tweedlove.com and we’ll be in touch. It’s a lot of fun (honest) and you’ll have Bike Valley’s eternal thanks!
