Just when you thought it was safe to go out and buy your full suspension fat bike, Salsa has today announced that there’ll be a carbon fibre version of the Bucksaw.
The full suspension fat bike – the Bucksaw was launched at the Sea Otter this year and features 100mm of travel front and rear. There’s Dave Weagle’s Split Pivot technology out back and SRAM’s new Bluto fork from Rockshox at the front.
This is true of the Bucksaw Carbon, only the addition of the magic plastic drops the frame weight by 300g. The bike will take 4in tyres and will be available as a frameset or a full bike build. For 2015 it looks like Salsa in the UK will be dealing direct with bike shops, having recently parted ways with Ison Distribution.

Fatbikes aren’t for me, but I’d have to admit that’s one lovely looking bike. Beautiful colour!
Fat bikes are starting to look normal, especially full suspension ones. Just like 29ers did. That is lovely and the moulded elastomer protection bits are great finishing touches. But I wonder how much it will be 🙁
Sheesh, that is one pretty looking bike.
No idea where or when id use it too its full potential but i want it!
How much will it be? Based on current US/UK Salsa pricing, expect $1=£1
Won’t be cheap will it…
And, I’m at a loss as to why you’d want a FS Fattie.
I cant’t think of anywhere that it would be faster but it would make going anywhere more fun!
Is 300g less frame weight really going to make that much difference for a fatbike?
