News just in from Trans-Savoie, as official sponsor SHIMANO is announced.
Madison is proud to announce that SHIMANO will be an official sponsor of the Trans-Savoie. After its debut in 2013, it became clear that the Trans-Savoie is a ground-breaking take on the increasingly popular Enduro format with its balance of technical riding and epic adventure that levels the playing field between skill, fitness and strategy.
The 2014 edition of the Trans-Savoie takes place over six days between the 23rd and 30th of August, combining 27 timed stages and 25,000 meters of descent across some of the finest alpine singletrack available, including Val D’Isere, Meribel, Les Arcs and Mont Blanc.
As a sponsor, Madison will be providing full-time SHIMANO mechanics throughout the event helping to keep competitors focused on racing during this fully-supported event. A wide range of fantastic SHIMANO prizes will also be provided for the competitors to battle it out for.
“We are extremely proud to announce our relatively new event is supported by Shimano in 2014, a brand with a huge history of supporting world-class events like the UCI World Cup series, and a company we see as the perfect fit for our flavour of aggressive all-mountain racing.
Behind the scenes, Shimano components have always been the choice of Alpine guides who push bike equipment to its limits during a full season, so it’s also exciting to now have Shimano as the official sponsor of sister Alpine guiding company TrailAddiction in addition to the race itself.” Ali Jamieson – Trans-Savoie/Trail Addiction
“Having followed last year’s race closely it was clear that Trans Savoie is a must do event for any rider, blending great riding with amazing scenery and a real challenge for all who enter. We can’t wait to be part of this Alpine event and offer our support to riders who need it and help make Trans-Savoie the ultimate Enduro experience.” Mark Greshon – Shimano UK Brand Manager

will everyone be riding it on Sram XX/ XOI though?
I won’t be, 1 x 10 with shimano zee, xtr gear happy days!
Same here 1×10 Shimano Zee deraileur
Even if people do run SRAM drivetrain, you’d have to be mental to run anything other than Shimano brakes! 25,000m descent on Avids? No thanks! Besides sooner or later (probably sooner) you just know Shimano are going to come out with something that ups the game yet again. Fair play to SRAM for proving the possibility in the first place – for enduro / all-mountain riding a 1 x (whatever) setup is most certainly the way forward.
