Like Getting High? Like Getting High vicariously?

Then you may want to get yourself to the Lakes for the Kendal Mountain Festival.

Kendal Mountain Festival is by far the largest and most varied event of its type in the world – it is also the main social event for outdoor enthusiasts in the UK.

At the heart of Kendal’s programme is the mountain film competition, attracting film premières from around the world. Over 50 films are screened (from 200+ entries) with ten coveted prizes up for grabs.

Together with the Art and Photography events, numerous competitions, specialist sports nights (Bike, Snowsports, Free-Flight and Endurance Sports) the Boardman Tasker literary award, KMF for Schools programme plus the Adventure Film Academy for aspiring filmmakers, make it the ‘must-do’ mountain festival.

“Our vision is to inspire more people to explore, enjoy and represent mountains, wilderness and their cultures.”

Santa Cruz Bike Session

Date: Saturday 17th November Time: 19:00 – 21:00

Presented by the immaculate Santa Cruz Bikes – the 2012 Bike Session will be packed to the rafters.

Fresh from the Santa Cruz stable – MTB endurance rider Rob Dean teaches us the difference between the EWE and the Barebones 200!  We are also honoured to welcome homegrown filmmaking legend Alex Rankin with a can full of cinematic surprises for us, plus an audience with master skill-smith Chris Akrigg – BMX, trials, singletrack or downhill, you name it he can do it better than most.
Joe Bowman from the brilliant Steelcity Media house is also a guest and he has promised a few film treats to ice this already very rich festival cake!

So who on earth could hold this eclectic night together – none other than Big Beard himself – Mr Ed Oxley of Great Rock fame. Oh and there’s an after-show DJ set to take us well into the night!

Book your tickets now to avoid disappointment!

This was much better than last year…more interesting speakers and actual films, not trailers like those shown at the last one! Pleased the bloke who collasped was alright and the night carried on too. 😀

Glad you enjoyed it, I enjoyed the whole evening too, and I really enjoyed the opportunity to share what I love doing
