According to the official Santa Cruz blog, the cat is officially out of the bag. They’re making a carbon version of their popular Nomad 160mm travel ‘freeride lite’ bike.
Ironically, the news of this much-rumoured bike came about by the earlier than expected printing of the new Decline magazine, in which there’s an official Santa Cruz advert for the new bike. The official launch of hte bike is on April 1st, but in the meantime, if you’ve been so desensitised to modern media that you’re happy with a web-resolution copy of an iPhone photo, then here it is…
More details will appear here when we get the official launch details. Oh, but don’t think that that’s all you’ve seen from Santa Cruz this year. Make sure you stay tuned to our upcoming Sea Otter coverage in a few weeks.

So long as they don’t paint it in the same Philadelphia based paint that they used on the new Chameleon, they could be onto a winner.
