halfords reserve and collect - 20% discount
garmin £30 cashback.
total price £73
result.
I don't think the cashback offer includes the Garmin bike computers. I'd love to be proved wrong though.
It has a cashback symbol next to the picture of the 200 on the Halfords website.
Am currently deciding if I really need one....am very tempted

There is a specific cash back offer on Edge 200 on the Garmin website.
Great, I'm ordering one. Cheers Mister P.
Best thing I have ever bought. Love it, right up till I smashed it 5 weeks ago! Still waiting for garment to replace it, if I thought I could get it for £70 I would just have bought a new one!
3% cashback also via topcashback
Worth a try to see if the NUS code still works too
Excellent tip jam bo, just reserved mine.
Just need an old cycle GPS to upgrade from to get the £30 cashback
Just a picture of an old one will do!
Does the 200 have the ability to follow a breadcrumb trail or any downloaded routes? I don't need 50k mapping, just the ability to point me in the right direction!

I read it as any cycle computer.
Oh so tempted, but do I really need it if I already have an 800?
Can the 200 work with HR monitor and speed/cadence monitor? If so I'd be tempted for the road bike..

Unfortunately not. If you've already got an 800, I wouldn't bother.
It is very cute though.

It allows you to upload a route and will display a little arrow telling you which way to go.
I'll give it miss then, good shout though!

Me too, hope you don't have to have had a GPS Computer previously
As I understand it you just need any cycle computer.
Picked mine up earlier. Dead smooth until I had to deal with the work experience lad on the counter.
Still. It'll do for me and no mention of gps in the cash back terms.
It does show the breadcrumb trail, which works a lot better than you might imagine.
I can't praise the Garmin highly enough, it's so much fun.
Any old cycle computer will do! picked one up earlier and seems good, like the any bike no fork sender simplicity.
Cycle surgery were offering the same the other week. 3 weeks after I bought mine for £100 grrr
Cash back offer is from garmin. Purchases after 31/05 qualify
Does it come with a handlebar mount? Are additional mounts quite expensive?
Comes with 2 mounts, fit Handlebar or stem, or do what I did and make a custom mount.
4% Cashback via Quidco too! Bonus! (that rate expires in 3 days though)

think i'll have to get one.... 🙂
Great, handlebar mount for the MTB and stem mount for the road bike then 🙂
Does the same offer apply to the Edge 500?
Cash back applies to all the garmin computers, my local bike shop are running the same deal.
Im pretty sure you can get the British Cycling discount on top of any other halfords deals too.....
When it says upload proof of purchase does it mean a photo of the receipt?

I would have thought that would do - or the email from an online purchaser confirming the order.
Amazon have it £107 which is only a few quid more and you won't have to visit halfords if you opt for free delivery.
What does the 500 do that the 200 does not? I tried a 500 and loved it. Does the 200 record altitude, show course profile and breadcrumb trail.
The Garmin website makes no comment on upgrading from a GPS computer - any computer will suffice.
EDIT: This review will tell you all you need to know. I think I'll hold out for the 500,a s I liked the route x-sectional view.

200 - basic bike computer, also does breadcrumb style trails and virtual races.
500 - like 200 but does HR, cadence, and power data too if youve got ant+ sensors
800 - like a 500, but with maps.
Apparently there might be an 800s/900/something else at the end of the year to superceed the 800. Not sure whether to wait for that, or wait for that then buy an 800 when they're presumably on sale, or get soemthing else like an xperia active.

searching for cashback on the garmin site reveals the offer is on the 200 and some nuvi and similar car units, I can't see the 500 or others.
I'd love to be proved wrong though...
Bought one anyway. Son1 needs a new computer and it's only 60% more than a decent wireless effort from Cateye.
I don't bother with AMT+ power, liked the breadcrumb trails and will manage with GPS altitude. I don't like touchscreen, and the 800 looks a little unwieldy.
I really don't need one, but for £73! What's the battery like?
anyone know if the bar mount is good for 31.8mm setups? been caught out by this before

It's fine. The mounts are held on the bars by criss-crossing O rings. There are about 3 different sizes of O rings per mount, so you'll be fine. I've mounted mine on 31.8 bars, as well as a road stem - dead easy, stays put.
oooohhh i feel like a visit to Halfrauds in that case!
Picked one up today - have a cheap Forerunner as well but strapping it to the bars is a bit faffy and at least I have a better chance of having one of them properly charged. I like the mini USB port rather than the special (and easily lost) dock for the forerunner.
Nice little bit of kit, especially for the money. Even if you only ever recorded where you'd been it'd be decent VFM.
Oooh Nice!! Another 10% off in-store as well with good old British Cycling discount.
Can this be used with Strava?
