The Z1 helmet from Lazer, weighing in at only 236g for the medium size, features 31 vents, which makes it cool…literally and figuratively. Its retention system uses a dial on the top of the helmet to tighten the system to the circumference of your head, while an indexed slide adjuster on the inside of the top of the helmet allows you to set the angle of how it sits on your head.
Aside from its coolness, aesthetics and comfort, the Z1 sports increased side impact protection. Our test model was delivered with the optional clear ‘aero’ shell cover. While I don’t really have any reason to get more ‘aero’, the shell did come in handy to keep the rain away from my lid during 160km of the Liege-Bastogne-Liege sportive back in April.
