Hmm… RE streaming.. on IOS it seems i can broadcast my home screen live, but as soon as i open an app (I.e. Zwift) it gets unhappy… will see what I can do..
So far we’ve got 28 riders but due to a combination of some people not having updated their names and some names being too long for the companion app to display them I’ve no idea how many hounds there are.
There’s at least one hound though so that’s the main thing.
And discord voice channels for each team – no cheating and listening in…(if there is only one hound you prob don’t need to bother with discord!)
I’ve set them up, click on the link and sign into the appropriate voice channel – hares or hound and then go into settings and set it to push to talk.
If you don’t set it to push to talk everyone will hear you panting and wheezing and that’ll only get worse once we start riding.
(Ideally the panting and wheezing is going to be pay-walled onto our premium content patreon which DrP’s setting up now I believe so we don’t want to just give it away.)
I will ride hound but tbh not up for a deep ftp effort – I can drive the flats but you will drop me on any real climb if you go hard (96 kg). That’s OK – I’ll hang on as long as I can.
We’re riding the distance not the time – the time thing comes from me saying that Zwift Insider said a race lap of this course takes roughly an hour so setting an approx 10% headstart.
I’ve no idea how realistic this headstart is, I think it’ll be relatively close given the hills but there’s only one way to find out! Then next time we can say 5% headstart or whatever based on what happens tonight.
Seems sensible Ivan, I mean the worst that can happen is the hounds all bury ourselves and that you have to pull the whole way round on Thursday. That’ll teach you.
Just looked at my Strava stats from the only ride I’ve done on this course, 30.45K in 1hr 06min (I think there’s a little ride to the start). There’s a couple of big hills in it IIRC. Av speed was 27.4kph. Was riding alone. Av Watts 183 (FTP then was 207 and I’m 80kg).
Bah got to do a call at 6 now. That’s 2 I’ve missed because of bloody work. I really like the idea of these so hope I can join the next one.. Defo a hare tho!
5 minutes sounds like a good place to start.
A couple of people have said they’re on the cusp of C and B – if that’s the case I’d suggest they ride with the Hares – the Hounds are going to have to go at a very strong B pace to have a chance of ‘jugged hare’ for supper!
