Anyone elses Zwift turned to crap after an update this morning?

Heard reports they had screwed it even more yesterday.

    How so?

Typically mine seemed better yesterday than Thursday, which seemed to be worse than earlier in the week (could easily have been just me).

Would sound entirely plausible that they broke out for X people, in fixing that they broke it for Y instead.

That was brutal but lots of fun. Nearly fell off my turbo in a heap at the end didn’t quite have enough to stick with the front boys all the way to the end fell away with a minute or so left.

The tempo was brilliant until everyone bailed with 500m to the line. I was getting ready for battle, then everyone stopped on the hour!!! Wtf.

    Tough but fine fun that

Enjoyed that, but I was broken after the last sprint, no way I could manage any tempo.

That, and I managed to lift the trainer up on the 3rd sprint, might need to find some ballast!

I took it easy on the final sprint with the last lap in mind but then missed the split for the tempo and didn’t have the legs left to jump across.

I found my 2 best sprint results came when I didn’t have power-ups to worry about – easing off to hit the button at the right time seems to cost me more than just riding!

I’ve also gone with the orange cap, socks and beard/hair to make identification easier on the TTT – it’s a pretty strong look…

    Great that…thanks as always Steve!

I actually hit 800w at one point and earned a badge, didn’t realise I had it in me 🙂

I’m thinking of changing my hair to really long with full beard, for the lockdown look 😉

Thanks again for organising Steve, I think I enjoyed it! Never quite sure when the sprint is about to kick off, I’m too busy trying not to lose the wheel in front. Not that it would make much difference.

Bah! I have to say I was amazed by the fact I was keeping up with everyone in the earlier meet-ups. My power seemed a bit optimistic compared to what I normally manage.
My trainer is weird, it seems to hold calibration for ages and then go a bit skew whiff all of a sudden. I think I need to check it at least weekly.

I think the recalibration has put me back about where I should probably be.

Bah! Need to train more. Feel a bit demoralised now…

I’m sure it’s a calibration issue Stumpy, as you would definitely keep up with me in usual riding…I’m usually dying most rides and holding on.

Best try calibrating again and see if it makes a difference. What trainer have you got?

Tough to say, you can only take the word of the Apps if no other option. Back when I first got my Snap, we tested it with a pair of power pedals and all were pretty damn close.

I also had another snap in the garage recently which seemed the same when riding so I’m pretty happy mine is ok.

Anyone locally you can borrow anything from to test.?

Just for info, I’m having a bit of a rest. I may do the TTT on Thurs, but that’s it this week. My legs are just fried every minute of every day currently, I think I’ve had 3 days off in 6 weeks. So, it’s time for a rest period.

So, someone needs to take charge of the next couple

Alright, I’ve just started an attempt at 25 laps of the volcano circuit. If anyone fancies joining up for moral support.

Thanks again Weeksy – enjoy the rest days and look forward to seeing in the TTT on Thursday!

Well done Weeksy, you deserve a beer and a rest

I’ll pick up the baton and setup a row for 18.30 Tuesday night if folks want?

I’m not over familiar with the routes but will try find something flat ish we can pitch for a few laps in an hour.

If enough people fancy the hare and hounds idea me and dangeourbrian could sort it between us?

Road to Ruins with a 10min headstart for c&d?

I’ve got a Tacx Flow (the cheap Halfords one).
I calibrated it after the last ride and after this. The result is consistent, so I think it’s pretty much there.

Yeah, at the end of the day I have to assume the turbo and calibration app are ok.
A couple of mates have turbos, so could try theirs after the lockdown.

I’m not that fit to be honest and the current pace/power is more like as I’d expect than a couple of weeks ago.

Might look at a Swift training plan…

I’d be up for hare and hounds definitely. We could stick Hare or hound into our name and have different jerseys…

Good idea on the jersey. 10 mins sounds like a quite a start!

I’m up for hounding on Tues. Gives a good workout before resting on Weds for Thursday’s TTT.

It’s only an extra hour and a half to tick the century afterwards…

Was great ride this morning – pain really winds up at tempo.
    I’ll be on for Tuesday.

Really enjoyed the first 3 laps, went for it and hit my highest wattage to date and that seems to be too much for my tacx vortex and it crapped out, just cruised round for 30 mins to finish the hour, never mind

    IvanDobski

Right, the time for a racing lap of Road to Ruins is roughly an hour so if we say a 6 minute headstart that’s 10%. This is pretty much a stab in the dark but it’s something to work off if we ever do a second attempt!

If everyone who wants to enter makes sure they’re following me over the next day or so I’ll send a load of invites out. Only accept and enter if you want to be in the hare group, ie cat c/d/e (or no idea) and being chased.

I’ll set the time for 1830hrs and shall we say the basic red & black Jersey with (STW Hare) in your name?

Then if someone from the hounds doing the chasing, so cat a/b, (or no idea but confident!) sets up an event for 1836hrs and everyone wanting to chase puts (STW Hound) in their name and the usual bumblebee Jersey.

Then it’s a straightforward team pursuit to the finish, first team to get someone over the line wins.

That should work shouldn’t it, or have I missed something?

Can’t we all be in the same meet up but the hounds set of 6 mins later? Otherwise we won’t all get the group messages or know when you are catching. If it is one group everyone is visible on the map.

    IvanDobski
    Free Member

That is a very good point – we’ll do that instead!

Same deal with names and jerseys Hares/Red, Hounds/Bee but everyone join the same event. I’ll send invites tomorrow evening to give people time to follow me.

Usual work rules apply so I won’t be available tuesday unfortunately. Shame as its sounds like fun.

Maybe see you all next weekend

I should be able to make this – I think I follow you

From what I understand, most are C&D cats which means a big group of hares .. work together and you will be very difficult to catch.

Pretty sure there are not too many A&B cats .. and from what I see on ZP very few of those are pushing A&B cat power for the longer 30-40km distances .. so the hounds group will be a very small group of riders🥵

I’m in, happy to take my turn in hounds

    IvanDobski

There’s a couple of decent little climbs in this where I’m expecting the hounds to make up quite a lot of time so hopefully it should be quite close.
