X Files.. (spoiler free)

This is the first one I’ve seen, well last nights. I have recorded all the previous episodes and after last nights, I’ll be in no hurry to catch up on them.

3/10 at best.

My thoughts exactly. I’ve stuck with it but every week I think WTF? It’s almost like they were told they could revive the series but the budget was £4.50/episode.

Completely disagree – the whole series was wonderful, silly, little-bit-scary, life-affirming stuff. Hands-down the best thing I’ve watched on TV so far this year.

We watched the first two before deciding it was bilge & didn’t bother with the rest.

I watched every series before deciding it was Ok. The original series had some cracking episodes but often some bilge, seems some have forgot about that.

its true, like many other long winded series the first season seems to capture the imagination, then it usually tails off into silly obscurity.

Rarely does a series continue to grow. The original X-Files was certainly a case of the former, it’s just a shame they didn’t treat this revival with a bit more love and attention – it could have been moody and mysterious and paid homage to the best bits of the originals, or even outdone them. But it was just plain daft instead. Had the feel of a ‘post X-Factor/BGT world tour’ about it, ie, cashing in before doing one.

I truly wish I had the viewers enthusiasm and abandonment of finbar though, it must be great to not hate 95% of standard TV offerings!

I dunno though, it’s not like I’m lapping up most of the dross that’s on – this just really struck a chord with me. The only other TV I’m really looking forward to this year is the Olympics and series 5 of Game of Thrones.

Get on to Better Call Saul! It’s ace.

Currently working through Walking Dead from series one. Halfway through season 2 and invested enough time into it now that I will see it through, but its not as brilliant as I was lead to believe.

Didnt realise what a spikey character Gillian Anderson was until watching here interviewed recently, good on her, not a person to be messed with.

I thought the new episodes were utter shite, with the exception of episode 3.

On a more positive note if you’re a fan of Rhys Darby don’t miss his series “Short Poppies” which is on Netflix.

Oh and if you want more Gillian Anderson, and you haven’t seen it already, make sure you watch Hannibal (though she’s not in the first few episodes).

I recorded all of them, not seen any apart from 10mins of one.

I was waiting until the end of the series, then watch all over a couple of days (like I’ve done with Extant) but now, well now I think I’ll just delete them all seeing as you lot think they’re rubbish.

For anyone whos interested spike t.v. channel(that’s the one that usually shows steroid infused blokes trying to kill each other for sport :-))are showing all the x files from the start at 10pm weeknights.

I really can’t believe how bad this series has been. Caught up with it this week. Episode 3 Lizard was just stupid. Episode 5 with the junior look a likeys just as bad.

Pretty silly rushed finale as well, just when I hoped we’d be left with a complex teaser…

Well. 5 hours invested I’ll be watching the finale tonight. 6 hours of my life I won’t be getting back!
