Where’s Brosnan in the quails? Did he crash?

Also, I thought Ratboy had the overall lead after Windham, whereas the UCI page suggests Brosnan has it.

Whatever, looking forward to this one immensely 😀

You mean round 7, there have already been 6 races, this is the final race for 2014. Then we have world champs next weekend

We really are pretty good at this aren’t we…? 50% of the top 20 are British!

    Course looked good, slightly mental.

    edited bungaltastic!

dirt twitter feed said brosnan had crashed/mechanical and was way off the pace

    kimber ta 🙂

The rankings on the UCI do seem different to others i’ve seen, do these show something else other than points accrued for the 6 races this season so far?

I don’t normally look at times until qualifying – do practice times tend to be representative?

Josh does seem to be on a real high at the moment! Looks like confidence makes a big difference to him.

Edit: oh hang on this is qualifying!

Brosnan had a flat. Should be a great race tomorrow, I reckon that Bruni might be on for this one! I’m really hoping that Fairclough pulls something out of the bag too.

They aren’t the world cup standings but the world rankings.

Rejig of the UCI website has made the world cup and live timing links disappear.

Current standings at the bottom of these pages

Is that Steve Peat fastest in the speed trap again!
Edit: (I’m not doing well here am I) 2nd

Big thing for Josh is he got the sweep of the Quali points without conceding any to Gwinn/Brosnan. Everything crossed.

another puncture for spesialized, they really should start developing their own procore tyres or maybe just rebadge some schwalbe ones!

Ah that makes more sense. That UCI site is awful and not easy to find stuff on, good digging there to get the standings.

Luck more than judgement and that live link above tipped me off.

Bryceland now only needs to be 4th to win the world cup with an extra 40 points on Brosnan

Would love to see Ratboy and Manon take their first WC this weekend. Course looks pretty mighty, lots of technical steep bits and a few wide open fast as balls bits too. I think RedBull are expanding the number of cameras this weekend too so the coverage should be top notch.

Its good to see 10 UK Riders in the Top 20.

Ratboy is on the money, he’s really loving that 650b and the new Minions he was running for round 6 apparently roll really well.

    Allegedly

Yep – the original link was still when there were a few good riders on course.
The live timing shows a couple of new people slotted in:
    PARDAL in 4th for example!

Anyone know where Rat boy needs to finish to be guaranteed the overall title?

I’ll have to watch it on replay then.
    We’re having an uplift day.

First? I’m sure there are all sorts of mathematical permutations of point scoring based on where others finish in relation to Ratboy, but until people start coming down the mountain tomorrow we won’t know. That said, someone said to me he could finish second and still win regardless of who finishes first. Bearing in mind what’s happened in qualis that sounds feasible.

Meribel will be carnage if Bryce wins. Fingers crossed for him.

Hope it all goes well for Ratboy tomorrow – he seems to be on a real high at the moment.

If he does win, you know that he’ll have a damn good night tomorrow!

Yep, he had a black-eye from celebrating a 2nd place, imagine how bad he could get?!

Im hoping for Manon and Ratboy to storm to first place. As Rach seems to b at full speed again Manon might play safer and get the points, but I assume Ratboy will just go for broke. He doesn’t seem the type to win by not winning!

It’ll be amazing if Simmonds can take the win and ratboy the series.

My money is on Sam hill for the race tomorrow though.

    Current standings after qualifying:

    Men: Ratboy – 1047, Brosnan – 964, Gwin – 945

    Women: Manon – 1220, Ragot – 1140, Rach – 1110

    Race scoring is I believe 200 for 1st, 160 2nd, 140 3rd, 125 4th, 110 5th.

If the above is correct and my maths work out, that means Ratboy should secure overall world cup victory if he bags 4th!

I think Manon would also need 4th to win overall.

    Meribel track go pro

Looks like a blinding track, looks like it will be a struggle to stay inside the tapes with some of those rapid open corners.

My boss has just informed me today I could have used his house in Meribel this weekend for free. It’s mothballed every summer. Got a family hol in Cornwall starting tomorrow. Next year!

Ratboy actually hit the deck on his qualifying run this morning but still got second, my money is on him but Matt Simmonds does look focussed and ready to consolidate his run yesterday (a little inside info for you).

Meribel is ready to go absolutely nuts today. Can’t wait to get up there and finally savour the atmosphere. The course is epic and is as steep and tech as it looks. It’s been drying out all week so should run even quicker today. Shame it the champs won’t be back here next year but there are moves afoot to go for a world champs in the next few years. If the feedback from the riders is anything to go by the teams would love to be back.
