Where to go/stay in Lakes?

I’m looking to have a long weekend in the Lakes sometime in March so can anyone recommend somewhere to go/stay – preferably at the budget/value for money end of the spectrum as I’ll be on my own and don’t want to pay for a twin room !!! YHA are around £25 which is my fall back. tks.

I second that….Graham is a top bloke and a good mate. He`ll show you round if you want, or even a ride on the Sunday night if you fancy.

1 in Keswick, 1 in Ambleside, 1 nr Stavely(Maggs Howe)..all cheap as chips.

Problem with a lot of Lakes accom is 2 night stays are min over a weekend.

I can recommend Greystoke house,Marks also a keen mountainbiker and rides with us on Tuesday evenings (1830 Tuesday evenings pedlar cafe Keswick,new comers always welcome)
