Did you feel the wheels were the first thing to upgrade?

I already had a set that are probably better so made sense to punt the stock ones on.

They still look the best place to lose weight though – and CRC happened to be doing Crossmax XLs for a nice price at the mo.

I reckon I should get it under 30lbs (with pedals) once those are on with some lighter tyres than those Schwalbe supergravitys.

Jusy ordered a Reign. Couldn’t resist at that price. Anybody want to buy a 2010 Nomad mk 2 in large 🙂

Got mine from the same place as Chapking. 2016 Reign 1.5 Ltd[/url]. Comes with reverb, 1×11 XT throughout, MRP Bash/guide Pike solo Air, Monarch Plus Debonair R, for £2100 delivered.

Delivery was woeful but that’s not their fault, in fact the state of the box on arrival, it was lucky there was a bike at all. Some minor damage, no worse than I expect to see after the first couple of rides. Speak to Florian and ask for 15% discount code on the euro price.

Is it worth it for £90? I’m sure uk dealers would knock that off?

Edit: ignore me I see your link goes to the 2

Ah padawan, you have missed my links (which I just edited…), this isn’t the reign 2, its the reign 1.5, the spec (linked to above both the dealers pages and giant fr page) is much betterer.

I’m on it like sonic. The question is though. Reign or Capra….

Yer sorry, my link now goes to correct model 1.5. I like giant for warranty back up etc. YT are dead nice bikes, but got disheartend by Transition dropping crash support for my 2011 covert last year, so big manufacturers all the way now for me. Plus -look at it, its sexy!

    I approve.

My box came with a great big hole in too (but nothing missing).

I don’t think anything was missing, luckily. I got spare mech hanger, bottomless tokens, lights!! And the little connector thing for feeding the reverb stealth through, was hoping for the monarch rubber bands but maybe they fell out..
Thats another good thing about big brands, all the extras, made me wee a bit.

Box and damage, worst bit is the grinding on the maxle and and adjuster cap, the fork was peeking out of the bottom of the box. Mild disappointment, but I will defo do similar at some point in the near future.
Pics show box upside down, was held by two staples and nothing else, bike fell out on arrival.
Fotos make mech look 2nd hand, but it is brand new, just slightly rubbed up.

The box had also been very wet at some point, luckily, partly precipitated by chapakings warning about the crap courier, before shipping I asked them to send me pics and it was in great condition. the edges of the box are all crinkled. This might explain the delay in shipping – they were waiting for it to dry out. There was planetwide torrential rain last week.

Spec-wise; that 1.5 is the pick of the bunch. Xt, solo air fork, reverb st. Lovely.

Have you sent those pics to the shop so they can re evaluate their choice of courier? Glad you’re happy with it but if I’d just spent over 2K and received that I’d be livid and it’d be going straight back.

I’d be livid and it’d be going straight back.

To be honest, a pragmatic approach is that its going to look not unlike that a few rides in, does it make any difference to me, not really. Therefore I can’t be arsed with the hassle. aslo now I have got it, I aint letting it go, it seems like I’ve won a prize to get such a great spec for so little.

I often think that property owns you, in that you are so afraid of damaging it that you cant enjoy it, people being cautious about new cars, motorbikes and new bikes. So I am glad its got a few scratches, so now I can thrash its little arse without hesitation.

The wife does this every time we get a new (2nd hand) car, she tries to get me to be the first to dent it so she has the freedom to drive like a banshee.

I did email them the pics and they apologised, I’m satisfied.

Good on you Toys, I’d do exactly the same. Sure I’d be a bit miffed for 5mins but as long as it was slight cosmetic stuff, just crack on.
I do wonder if some people actually ride the bikes they buy ? The Reign looks great I’m sure you’ll love it 😀
