ok, did pedals yesterday, so it’s wheels today.
Got a Stumpy that i use for xc and whatever downhill/uphill/drop-off/jumps/etc i can find. Not wanting to get into the “aggressive” xc debate, so let’s aknowledge it, and ignore it, but i have no shame in giving my bike a hard time!
SO, I have two sets of wheels, and don’t know which to use, and which to sell. Neither are new, but comparably good second hand condition:
1) XC717 discs with black spokes on Dt Swiss Hubs (not sure of model – 240 maybe? – only got italic logo on them)
2) XC717 non disc’s with silver spokes on Hope XC’s
Are the non disc rims going to be much tougher for their 25gram weight penalty and not looking as good? And are the Hope XC hubs far superior in the long-term?
Should i build the disc rims onto the hope hubs and sell the other bits seperately? Anything’s possible…
