If I could it would be a Lightspeed or a Indy Fab. Would need a test ride.

But even if I had the money I doubt if I would spend that kind of money when I know I can get as much fun as anyone else riding my cheap n cheerful Blue Pig 💡

    1. Custom built Litespeed Kitsuma (if Litespeed are still doing custom builds)

    2. Hummer, Ragley or Soda (all made by Lynskey, so depends on which has the most favourable geometry for what you do)

I've been very happy with my Dean Custom Colonel for the last (nearly) four years. I think they'd be about £1700 at current exchange rates.

Buy a steel 456 (its only £150 new, and you'll get back half of it on ebay), then decide whether you like it or not – play with setup.

Once happy buy the 456Ti, otherwise look elsewhere.

    Worked for me.

If allowed by SWMBO it'd definitely be an Indy Fab – had that conversation with my wife yesterday because while she'd be fine with me dropping £4K on a watch (Breitling of similar) she'd not be pleased if I did the same on a bike. I used a nicely spec'd Ti Deluxe as the example of what I'd built for that sort of cash.

As it is I'll have to make to with the Van Nicholas that I already have, although I might pimp it up a little:

DeKerf Implant looks the nicest to my eye, but I've no idea how it rides.

Don't waste £4k on a watch, £4 will get you one that will tell the time, and £40 will buy you something 'pretty' to put on your wrist…

At least if you spend it on a bike and don't like it, there's a chance of actually selling it for something like you paid for it.

I'm more likely to spend £100-200 on a Casio G-Shock anyway, especially given I don't even wear a watch that often. I was trying to prise the purse strings open and then re-allocate the cash towards bikes…!
