    Following from the other thread.

Cycling, of course. She now has an MTB and a hybrid. She was really getting to grips with singletrack, and complaing that fireroad/towpath/green routes were too boring, but then we had kids and some health issues and it all went to pot.

She’s creative and artistic, so the other day I got her a cheap used SLR, she seems to be enjoying it despite having shown no interest in mine. This is good 🙂

She also now likes coffee, although that may have a lot to do with the kids.

    Mountain biking and kayaking.

I agree that this is not going to end well, but I’m going to sit back and enjoy the journey anyway!

I’m not very good at this.

Cycling was a failure, as was skiing. Although I did manage to get my wife to go camping quite a lot.

I don’t get wanting your partner to like the same past times as yourself. My past times are MY time and hers her own ? Absense makes the heart grow founder and all that.

But anyway … Meat Pie… My mum’s meat pie used to be my death-row meal. But now the Mrs makes it much better … Happy days

It’s about sharing what you love with the people you love.

XC skiing, cycling. Admittedly I didn’t do XC skiing when we met, and the first trip might even have been her idea but it’s something I’m more into than her (though she also enjoys it). She had a bike when we met and actually rode quite a bit, but not really seriously – pre-kids we went on 1000km+ tours on the tandem.

    Do you mean whales?

When you spell it with a capital letter and no h it means the place.

    You’re welcome.

Perhaps Tom actually meant Wales? My ex had never been to Wales until I took her to Snowdonia for the weekend.

Right, consider me self-inviting ourselves to your house so you can recalibrate my wife in the same way! (no euphemism intended…)

That place where it rains all the time and they have retained their own language specifically for slagging off non welsh people?

Come on pal. Don’t insult the guy.

I am only joking of course. I had a cracking weekend in Swansea recently. The people there were incredibly friendly. I ended up speaking to more stranger in a weekend than I would in a year in any of the towns round here (Yeovil being my closest).

I only have acceptance that alternative opinions can be valid ones, I’m still a long way from acceptance that things can actually be done differently to they way that her parents do things…
but I’d happily euphemise your wife either way.
