They’re just being picky buggers, just go ride it 10 times hard then start fiddling.

Odd indeed you have saddle all the way forward ? Is frame a 57 ? Maybe 55 be a better fit ? Sure ritcheys come up bit long ?

monksie how longs the stem on your 54cm supersix your only ickle 😆

white saddle? Sell them and buy black

white bar tape will set off the Ritchey logos nicely and the saddle will tie in with it, so keep the white saddle. Just not in its current position 🙂

Ritchey kit is the obvious choice and will look good, but depends how much you have/want to spend and if you actually want to change anything else (eg. bar width, stem angle/length) to make the spend worthwhile.

More to the point, enjoy riding and fine-tuning it.

    160cm (maybe)…I’m very supple 🙂

I would spray paint the whole shebang matt black. Fully colour coordinated, no branding to worry the brand snobs, easily refinished if needs be. And it’ll bring out the lines of those pretty steel tubes an absolute treat. What could possibly go wrong?

And then just go ride the thing.

57 definitely fits. I’ve just been for a spin with 90stem/moved sadly 😀

It doesn’t fit if the saddle needs to be that far forward and the stem shortened to a 90 mm.

if it fit and feels good with a 90mm then whats the problem ?

i have a 90mm stem on mine as on the smaller bike the seat needed a scaffold length pole to get in right position and 80mm of steerer spacers.

maybe im not particularly flexible but mine feels great 🙂

Saddle not sadly. Nexus5 phone predict text is hideous.

    Just read this
    🙂

    Bloody hell Hora, that’s lovely.

Needs a black saddle, pink tape and a stainless/alloy bottle cage, obviously, but that is a beautiful bike.
    😀

Keeping everything ‘as is’ now- need to concentrate on rides/then re-think bits. 🙂

I’ve also entered it into https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/124127/Ronde-Van-Chinley

If anyone else wants to join?

Well for once Hora that’s a bloody good idea. Leave it alone and go ride it. Once you’ve put some miles on it and listened to your body and the bike you’ll know only too well what needs changing.

Can’t join you for the RvC I’ll be doing P-R myself.. 8)

Well, ignoring how you’ve dressed it for a minute, how does it ride? Seems like you’ve answered the original question and got a proper frame.

For what its worth: White bar tape for bling but keep the black on until you’ve finished fettling/tweaking it.

    Nice one.

I’ve only had shortish rides so far- leg over though and it feels stable and still nippy. Some bloke in all the gear on a fixie rode round me at the lights and stopped right infront of me. Cheek I thought! I had him 😀

From a newbie point of view- the bars don’t seem to jar/want to jump out of my hands like they did on the PlanetX- thoughts?

First proper ride around Kirklees/Huddersfield this weekend.

    thoughts?

The inherent lushness of steel and perhaps because it feels more planted as its a bit heavier? Those PX forks are a bit boingy from experience.

Hated the front on descents. It made me nervous.

Just re finishing kit, have you seen the CRC bundles thing?

I don’t know if this was also in part a confidence thing but jesus the Ritchey Logic is stable going down steep/fast hills.

On the same road(s) the PlanetX bucked around/felt nervous compared. Maybe partly a wee bit extra weight but then the rider is heavy so shouldn’t matter?

It was soo reassuring that I thought ‘shit these brakes really are crap’! 😀

Fantastically smooth, stable. Still looking for a decent (black) saddle. though.

    …these brakes really are crap’!

    what pads you using?

standard pads are seemingly designed to last approx 1000years, thinking ‘i’ll replace them when they’re worn’ will only mean you’ll forever have crap brakes that wear through your rims at a frightening rate.

On the same road(s) the PlanetX bucked around/felt nervous compared.

because the man in the shop told you to buy an XL, you bought a L and it was too small so you were hanging over the front of it, so you were nervous riding it

The brakes should be fine, on a road bike you are going a lot faster than you realise so the braking distances are longer compared to a mountainbike
if you really want to change the blocks then swisstop Blue (replacement for Green)

5mm difference in the effective on both frames in the the sizes I had- I’m using a shorter stem on the Ritchey- even with other factors its not ‘massive’ enough that a XL Pro carbon would have felt better.

The front of the Ritchey isn’t as chattery over bumps etc. The frame has more give I guess too but down anything its very stable. Probably alot of factors like carbon stiffer but on a larger Pro Carbon I’d still be bounced around.

I AM using SwissTop 😀 It aint like a mtb to slow down aint it 😆
